Training with Treats14 Mar 2005 19:52 GMT3
I'm trying to train my new cat (5yo) not to jump onto the neighbour's
fence.  She gets down when I call 'No', which is remarkable in itself
and I guess shows she has history with a previous owner,  and I then
reward her with a treat (she luuurves ham-off-the-bone).
FIP and Chlamydiosis - diagnosing and exposing healthy cat14 Mar 2005 15:31 GMT1
I have a few strays that I want to bring inside but I don't want to
infect the cat I already have with any diseases. These strays do seem
to have an URI/ herpes virus that will be treated and they will be
tested for FeLV and FIV. I'm also concerned about FIP as well as

You all heard what happened with Bandit getting burned at the vet - well,
the problem was even worse.
This morning when I was petting her I noticed matted hair on her back by her
tail.  I got out the wire brush to get the mat out and her hair came out in
Second Burn - Pictures14 Mar 2005 12:19 GMT9
Here are some pictures of the second burn on Bandit's back (gross warning).
It looks worse than this morning when the hair fell out.  I don't know if I
made it worse by washing the Silvadine off twice - I decided to leave it
alone until I can get to the vet, now I don't know if I ...
bleeding toe...14 Mar 2005 08:11 GMT2
Some of you may remember that during Jasper's escapades at the vet and
at the hospital, he managed to come home with a cracked fang tooth and
one less claw. I think the claw broke off, kinda like a human nail would
break off the bed. I actually remember that the claw nail was ...
Marbles has a walking jacket14 Mar 2005 06:28 GMT12
Marbles, our "troubled" kitty, who is aggressive and needs to be
separated from our other 2 cats, needs some extra stimulation in his
life (and something to tire him out) so I had him on a harness a couple
of times outside.  Of course, he kept falling over but he seemed to
Playing and then he leaves14 Mar 2005 03:38 GMT3
So KitKat and I were playing get the mouse - it is a little mouse on a
string.  He was running and jumping after it for a couple of min.  At
one point he put his head real low and put his bum up in the air with
his tail and it was shaking up a storm.  He pounced across the room
Alternatives for dental care?14 Mar 2005 03:34 GMT5
Okay, I've tried supposed plaque-fighting treats. No go. I've tried
the fingertip toothbrush. No go. I've tried a real toothbrush. One cat
actually liked it, but that's because we adopted him from a Dentist,
who brushed his teeth every day. lol.
Attention SHELLY COUVRETTE14 Mar 2005 00:55 GMT1
Since you have serious comprehension problems, let me reiterate:
I never once said I would do what Shelly did--
in other words, contact her employer as she has
contacted Steve's, because she did not like a

Hi Everyone,   I can't take my cats to the vet since it is Sunday, so I
would appreciate any info...I'm freaking out!!!  I have four cats, all
indoors. Last week, Furman had diahrrea for a day and a half. I stopped
all food for 12 hours when I first saw him having trouble, and then

Asthma due ti climate?13 Mar 2005 19:51 GMT4
Kami just had her third mini asthma episode in as many weeks and I'm
beginning to suspect that it's climate related.  In the year since our
move she didn't have any , but no back in SoCal, it's back.  I don't
know if it's the dryness, the sea level, the different flora and their
Bandit's Boo-boo - More Pictures13 Mar 2005 18:21 GMT29
Cats are truly amazing - not that I have to tell you guys that!
Bandit is getting better at an incredible rate.  I went to the vet this
morning to pick up some more pain meds, but I don't think she's going to
need them.  She hasn't had one since last night and she seems to be quite

Any chance he will sleep during the night?13 Mar 2005 04:54 GMT8
I understand that cats are nocturnal...but is there any chance we will
get him to sleep at night considering we are gone for 9 hours m-f
during the day?
Thanks
