POLL - Is it OK to breed your cat?23 Feb 2005 10:09 GMT430
I have been labeled an extremist and a lunatic because I do not think it is
OK for someone to breed their cat.  I'm wondering who else feels this way.
BTW - this is not a breeder, it's just someone with a regular old moggy who
wants kittens that are just as sweet and special as ...
Mystery health problems in an older male cat23 Feb 2005 07:56 GMT2
My cat will be 14 this September.  He's been through one major health
crisis, a tumor at the vaccination site, which led to the amputation of
his leg.  Since then, he's adjusted pretty well, and has more or less
been okay.  About five months ago, though, he began losing weight.  At
Cats and odors23 Feb 2005 03:38 GMT3
A tip about some cats' sensitivity to odors:
My cat (female) reacts quite viciously to the smell of Clorox. I use it
sometimes as a disinfectant and if I get it on my hands, all hell breaks
loose when she gets a even a slight whiff of it. She will sniff the
Need Opinions re 2nd Spay23 Feb 2005 03:07 GMT10
I'm confused, and this has gotten complicated.  And I'm very worried
about my cat.  Ethel is no longer in heat, it lasted about a week.
I was able to contact the volunteer who transported them AND is the go
between of the Spay clinic.
Fleas? or something else?23 Feb 2005 00:43 GMT2
We just adopted Lena from a very respectable pet orphanage.  Supposedly
she was cleared by the vet at the orphanage, but since she came to the
household, she's been scratching more and more - left chin, right chin,
then all around the neck (but no other places).  At first I thought ...
Bizarre switch in behavior.23 Feb 2005 00:13 GMT2
Nacho and Spot are 8 months old now and getting really big. Both are
recently neutered and exceed 10 pounds. Their mom, Sammy, was spayed soon
after the kittens were weaned. She has gotten more active, involved with the
household in general, playful, and a lot sweeter with the human ...
taste...22 Feb 2005 21:37 GMT39
Just brought another bag of Science Diet home and noticed this text
"...great taste..." on the bag.
How are we to know it tastes great?
Has anyone here ever been so brave as to taste the stuff?
Facial Twitching in elderly cat22 Feb 2005 19:50 GMT6
I have a 15 year old cat.  A year ago her bloodwork came back with mildly
elevated urea, creatinine, and T4 levels.  The doctor said she was
indicative of chronic renal failure.  Since then, the urea and creatinine
have been controlled with a special diet (Medical Reduced Protein ...
MEOWING!22 Feb 2005 18:06 GMT10
I got a new addition today.  He was found outside my work by a fellow
employee.  He's about 2 years old, male, total tomcat.... he wasn't
neutered.  I immediately got him neutered and brought him home.  I currently
have two other males cats both neutered... one 8 years, one 4 ...
Tracking Device22 Feb 2005 16:52 GMT22
I have a cat that perpetually likes to hide & go into seclusion. I don't
like that. Two other cats we have never do that, and don't bully the 3rd
one, and we'd rather then 3rd one be "out & about" to socialize with the
others rather than hiding all the time.
Cat diapers. Any experience?22 Feb 2005 15:16 GMT3
My cat is leaking some poop. Not piss. Poop, I think, is actually not
as bad as piss. That stuff really smells. Not to imply that poop
doesn't smell. And Jackie's smells, I would guess, worse than average.
Anyway, there isn't much that can be done about the poop leaking but I
used pet insurance before?22 Feb 2005 13:17 GMT5
For those of you who has (or had) purchased pet insurance, do you
recommend it? And if yes, are there certain things I should look for
when selecting pet insurance?  If no, why not?  I recently had to pay
over $500 just for diagnosis and therapeutic procedures (but my cat
Mutual Grooming22 Feb 2005 11:46 GMT2
Do cats groom each other out of affection?  Is it a dominant/submissive
thing?  I just saw my foster kitten (almost a cat!) Ana grooming Bartleby,
who is sort of the top cat in the house.  I've never seen another cat groom
him, he usually does the grooming.
Need help for a friends naughty cat22 Feb 2005 10:27 GMT5
Got this email from a friend who is asking for help for her friend's cat who
is obviously acting furry naughty. Any advice you can give will be forwarded
on so that DK? (dear kitty) may be around a while longer. Oh I hope he's not
serious about the .22! Eeeeeeekkkk!!
INBRED QUESTION: Cat breeding among famalies?22 Feb 2005 08:18 GMT4
If two cats from the same family mate, will it result in defects much
like it would in the case of two humans?
Thanks
