Can a cat catch FIV from the vaccine?10 Feb 2005 02:56 GMT7
I'm thinking of having Cinder vaccinated for FIV even though she's
mostly an indoor cat, just in case she gets out and into a fight. But
I'd like to know if there is any way that the vaccine can cause the
disease. Some human vaccines in the past have caused some diseases.
Cornea scratches09 Feb 2005 23:45 GMT3
This is my first time doing something like this so please bear with me. I
have a two year old cat who keeps getting her left eye scratched. This has
happened several times. And I'm worried about her. My veterinarian has
determined that she must be getting the eye irritated and ...
Is there a better alternative to litter boxes?09 Feb 2005 23:20 GMT22
My indoor-only cats don't have a problem with the boxes but I was
wondering about any alternatives. I have considered a doorway to an
outdoor enclosure. My wife won't let me train them to a toilet, if
they'd cooperate, that is.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - All dogs go to heaven. And the ones from West
Hollywood may now get there with their ears and tails intact.
The mayor of West Hollywood -- a liberal, pet-embracing city adjacent to Los
Angeles that two years ago brought America a ban on the declawing of ...
I need a high quality cat09 Feb 2005 20:28 GMT23
I really want a cat. I need something to pet, stroke, and smell. I
want to see a slinky creature meander around my appartment. I went to
the animal shelter the other day but all their pets were pretty
inexpensive. I'd imagine if I were to pay $400 for a cat it would be
meowing too much?09 Feb 2005 08:39 GMT7
I found out new cats' bad habit, or at least one of them. He meows at
night very loudly! I am guessing he is begging to go out because right
now he is scratching at the door as he is meowing up a storm.
What can I do? I have tried:

An old but working hifi amplifier in my Bali room has been attacked by a
visiting Tom - he decided to mark ownership of the said amp! My guess is
that it happened in the previous 10 days (because of the typical Summer
storms I hadn't used the pool or the Bali room) so it was dried ...
Concerned Kitty09 Feb 2005 02:10 GMT14
We've posted about Goomba before. I just thought I'd post again about
how much of a personality he has. Not only does he play fetch, but when
any of us are sick (me, my mom or my stepdad) he will cuddle us to no
end..
Bizarre things the vet said09 Feb 2005 02:02 GMT51
I was at a new-to-me vet yesterday.  My regular vet was full and would
only take my cat if I would drop him off so they could look at him
between other patients and even then they were going to charge me for
an unscheduled office visit.  I was peeved and went elsewhere.  I liked

Did you know you have a cat trapped inside your screen?
I found the tip of my cat's tail.08 Feb 2005 21:16 GMT7
I am baffled how I came upon about 1 1/4" end of my cat's tail.  I actually
found it in my car which makes me think that it had probably stuck to
something in my home and somehow ended up in the back of my SUV.  I spotted
a clump of her fur and it was attached to a small ...
Cats and salmonella poisoning: possible?08 Feb 2005 20:53 GMT9
I would be grateful if anyone can offer help.
I have just put down the evening meal and my cat (6 months old) didn't
eat a single mouthful (quality canned food that he normally devours).
He has gone to sleep beside the fire, looking very drowsy.  He has slept
Ring worm08 Feb 2005 20:30 GMT4
Can you get ring worm from a cat's fungal ear infection? I have looked
all over the internet and there are no difinitive answers, although
humans can definitely get ring worm from a cat who has ring worm.
My cat is being treated for a yeast infection in his ear, and I have

A neighbor moved to the next street but her cat kept returning to his
old garden and surrounding gardens.   From midsummer onwards this
continued and he sometimes seemed to be around for over a week.   He
got thin and I took him home.  He returned, I fed him  and took hiom
Cat Hiding please help08 Feb 2005 17:31 GMT39
Back in October 2003 we adopted a torishel cat, Female, 3 years old.
>From Oct until Jan 2005 she hid in our recroom in the cubby hole
underneath our mainfloor bathroom.  (basically where the ceiling and
wall meet)  By a fluke we managed to get her out of there.  She came
