Follow up - to So Worried what Could This Be? and question for Phil13 Feb 2005 11:36 GMT3
Just a quick update - my cat had a check up tonight and her heart rate and
temperature were all normal.
The vet now thinks she may be suffering from episodic low blood pressure and
she is booked in for Monday week to have it rechecked.
Help!!! My cat is dying of kidney failure!!!13 Feb 2005 11:27 GMT13
I took my 4 year old cat Magic to the vet today because he has pretty
much stopped eating and lost a lot of weight. He was diagnosed with
Chonic Renal Failure with secondary anemia. Since Magic was not happy
at the vet (they had to sedate him in order to examin him because he
Amber doesn't feel well13 Feb 2005 06:12 GMT26
Amber went to the vet yesterday for her rabies and distemper shots.
This morning she didn't want her breakfast and she is sleeping all day.
I assume this is not unusual so I'm not too concerned.  Any comments?

anemia - continuation of hyperthyroid post13 Feb 2005 02:54 GMT4
Well I finally got the results back on my Elvis today.  He has
non-regenerative anemia.  All his kidney functions, etc are good, though and
he tested negative for leukemia, FIV (both of which he had been tested for
years ago) and heartworm.  He has every symptom of the ...
Is dry cat food good enough, or do they need canned food too?13 Feb 2005 01:59 GMT13
Hi. Is dry cat food good enough, or do they need canned food too? I
don't mean the cheap dry food. I mean Science Diet or Iams.
Thanks.

Antibiotics First, Then x-rays & blood tests13 Feb 2005 01:48 GMT11
And don't trust any vet that will do it any different.  Money suckers.

Toe removed, what are the aftercare procedures?13 Feb 2005 00:01 GMT6
My Cat has had his toe amputated, 4 days ago, due to recurring infection,
the bandage was removed yesterday by a nurse, she said his paw looks ok, I
thought she should have put on a fresh bandage but she insisted it would not
be necessary.
A store brand food observation12 Feb 2005 22:43 GMT3
My mom's cats who notoriously do not like any canned food really like the
new Meow Mix packets. So out of curiosity I looked at ingredients today
while at the store. EVERY flavor, whether touted as chicken, beef or
whatever, the first two ingredients are Tuna and fish. So really, ...
Cat Chewing on Itself12 Feb 2005 21:38 GMT6
We recently moved from a house (Oct 04) to an an apartment until our new
home is built.  Thus our cats can only enjoy the outdoors on our deck
overlooking the apartment complex.  Prior to this, our cats were free to
roam out in the backyard several hours a day and then return to ...
Can a cat catch a cold?12 Feb 2005 19:51 GMT4
My neighbor, lamentably without Internet access, so I'm asking for her,
thinks her cat has a cold! For a couple days her cat has been sneezing.
She *did* take him to be groomed on Wednesday and didn't wrap the
carrier in a blanket.
Photographing Black Cats12 Feb 2005 19:47 GMT29
Is there a trick? Yesterday I took pictures of Buddha lying in the sunshine
on the back of the couch in the front room and they are all so dark you can
hardly see her.

Maine Coone doesn't Purr??12 Feb 2005 05:02 GMT11
My 2 year old Maine Coone doesn't purr out loud.
Just a slight rattle if I put my head to his body.
Is this normal for this breed?
Any ways to get him going if I can?
Thanks for the Advice about Maine Coons12 Feb 2005 05:00 GMT20
Thanks for all the advice in response to my questions about Bengals
and Maine Coons. I've decided on a Maine Coon, and am in the process
of selecting a breeder (and especial thanks to Orchid for the
excellent article on how to go about this).
The cat in the Americquest ad was FAKE!!!11 Feb 2005 23:25 GMT3
There's no way in hell any cat that size allows itself to be held by the
scruff of the neck THAT long without inflicting enough damage on that
guy to more than match all that Ragu on the floor in volume.
PLUS, those bites and scratches are instantly infected.
