Waiting to get cat fixed... I have a question.04 Jan 2005 22:08 GMT57
Is it ok to wait a couple of years so a cat can have a litter of kittens,
then get it spaid?  My mother said there can be complications, but how
likely are they and how severe are they?  The cat in question is currently
about 1yr old and is a chocolate point siamese mix.

How long kittens stay with Mom04 Jan 2005 18:12 GMT6
I have a 5 month old kitten who's been with me since he was 4 weeks old.
He's decided I'm his mother, and, well, he's right.  ;-)
Anyway, he's very attached to me and likes to be physically close as
much of the time as possible -- when he's not harassing his older feline
Found a kitten/adolescent cat04 Jan 2005 18:05 GMT24
Well, a cat walked into my life today.  I'm not good on kitten ages,
but she looks to me to be between 3-6 months.  It looks like some of
her pre-molars and molars are still erupting.  Anyone know how old
that makes her?  What should I look for?

I am 5 1/2 weeks pregnant and as you may know from my posts, a certified
Crazy Cat Lady.  I have 6 cats and one permanent foster and do a lot of
fostering: kittens, momma and kittens, semi-feral, cat needs a break from
the shelter, etc.  And I also volunteer nearly 40 hrs a week ...
Spayed female cat sprays04 Jan 2005 05:16 GMT5
I adopted a feral snowshoe siamese from a rescue about 3 years ago. She
had to be trapped, and was spayed there. It took me 3 months to gain her
trust, but she has turned out to be a sweet kitty.
This cat sprays--bad. She sprays every bush and weed outside, and
Wellness Cat Food04 Jan 2005 04:17 GMT108
I know there has been some discussion on Wellness Brand cat food before, but
I would like to hear people's opinion's on it. I am thinking of switching my
cats to it (they've tested it out - the canned food - and love it!!).
I have one cat with CRF - he is currently on Hills x/d (dry ...
eye problems03 Jan 2005 22:00 GMT3
Our male cat, approx 2 years old, has a smallish white spot on the surface
of the cornea? (clear lens portion) of one of his eyes. It's white, off
center, and 1/32 to 1/16" in diameter. It isn't causing him any discomfort
and I haven't seen any change in 2 days when I first noticed ...
Argh!  Figured out Kami's food thing.03 Jan 2005 15:37 GMT6
Never-ending saga of getting the world's most finicky cat to eat.  I
think I finally figured out what her problem was:  She didn't like the
lot number.  Even though I called Science Diet and asked if there was a
problem with one of the lots, she still refused to eat the one for
cat-safe detergent03 Jan 2005 04:24 GMT2
In recent months we have had a high incidence of respiratory problems
with cats in our shelter - some that have had severe sudden-onset
asthma-like symptoms. After one kitten's symptoms cleared up almost
immediately after a change of bedding, we are thinking that laundry

Kitten won't eat canned food03 Jan 2005 01:31 GMT14
Our little rescue kitten we got when he was 12 days old is now thirteen
weeks.  He eats dry food just fine, but isn't the least bit interested
in the canned food I put out.  He only wants Gerber's baby food, which
I give him twice a day right now, despite the lack of taurine.  I've
