Half Siamese, Half Himalayan=?24 Dec 2004 04:03 GMT22
I just found out that my dearly departed, 19 1/2 year old 'baby child'
named Blue, was actually a half Siamese and half Himalayan. Blue's been
'gone' exactly one month ago, today-Dec.20th-04.
So what exactly did this bloodline make him/Blue? A mix breed? Or, is there

How are they?  Any horror stories?
Digging?23 Dec 2004 21:19 GMT13
One of my cats has just recently (within the past 8-12 hours) taken up
digging.  She's tried to dig up the bathtub, the front door, the door to
the basement, and the bathroom sink so far.
As I write this she has just finished a 10-15 minute tub digging tour,
Pulling objects into the food bowl23 Dec 2004 20:54 GMT12
OK, here's a weird one for me.
Both of our cats have been known to pull just random objects near the food
and water bowls into either one of these bowls.  Sometimes it's bits of
news paper, other times it's articles of clothing.  Last night, a towel
moving two cats...territory issues?23 Dec 2004 19:11 GMT6
I'll soon be moving to a new house with my two cats and am wondering
how this might shift the balance of power between them.
These are two neutered males, Max is 4.5 years old and Sketch is 1.5
years old.
Radioactive Iodine Therapy Treatment23 Dec 2004 07:33 GMT6
My cat is hyperthyroid so I am opting for this treatment as opposed to
the surgery or meds for the rest of his life.
Has anyone  had this done for their cat?? I am mainly concerned about
what happens AFTER they come home..I do have other cats.
introducing cats23 Dec 2004 06:06 GMT6
so i am taking Shaina to my parents' house where we have two cats,
neither of whom like anyone.  the younger one, Manika, i thought was
the friendly one because she never bites us, but my mom told me today
that she also chases all neighbourhood animals away from our house.
Off in the morning...Pearl sneezing again23 Dec 2004 03:39 GMT2
*Sigh* wouldn't you know it. Leaving in the morning and Pearl is
sniffsneezing snorting. She gets this way sometimes. I don't know if there
is a hair stuck in her nose but everytime she sniffs at something she kind
of gets snorty and sneezes. I would just appreciate extra purrs for ...

Why is cat pulling his hair out?23 Dec 2004 02:41 GMT1
I have recently adopted an older kitty - he is almost 16.  While he is
grooming, he will often pull out clumps of fur with his teeth.  He has
recently had four teeth extracted and is in early stages of renal
failure.
Keeping Cat Away from Christmas Tree23 Dec 2004 00:15 GMT125
Okay, before anyone laughs outloud, I'm serious--I want a tree in the living
room AND I want to decorate it how I so darn well please--ornaments and
all--AND I absolutely expect my 2 kittens to totally leave it alone. (Yes,
kittens, not cats.) 100% LEAVE IT ALONE! Period, leave ...
Cats & Gingerbread22 Dec 2004 23:59 GMT13
Does anyone know if gingerbread is safe for cats to eat? I am going to be
making gingerbread cookies and I know my cats will be curious because they
are always interested in what is being made in the kitchen. This will be the
first time I'll be baking gingerbread cookies so I ...

Solar heated bird bath?22 Dec 2004 18:01 GMT7
Oddly enough I can find solar powered bird baths (for a fountain, not
heat) and electically heated bird baths, but not solar heated bird
baths. I would really like the bird bath to remain ice-free this year,
but until we do better with this global warming business I guess I'll
