hyperthyroid06 Dec 2004 21:06 GMT21
Tess, my 10 year old domestic shorthair, has been diagnosed with
hyperthyroid disease. According to the blood workup, levels are around
12%. Currently, she is taking 1/2 mil of Tapazole twice per day. I am
familiar with the three different treatments and have opted for the
allergy mystery06 Dec 2004 16:39 GMT24
I'd like some shared experience from allergy or asthma sufferers with
pets.
My question to cat owners is: can you test negative to cat allergies,
yet still find yourself in a situation where the cat is causing you

Bill posted a low res picture of Squeaky to
alt.binaries.pictures.animals for me. Look for "Squeaky at his catnip."

MAGI TO THE VET05 Dec 2004 21:02 GMT12
Please wish my cat MAGI luck today in going to the vet!
Last night she started to leave little spots and trailing spots of
urine on the couch and on the bed.
It's the first time she has ever done this.
Please sign - Safer Vaccinations for our Pets petition05 Dec 2004 20:03 GMT9
A few of my friends and I have been working on a petition to hopefully
make routine vaccinations a little safer for our cats and dogs.  My
friends and I have lost cats to Vaccine Related Cancer.  We are not
anti-vaccination, but Pro-Education.  We feel that all pet owners
New to group05 Dec 2004 17:24 GMT8
Decided to add this group to my list of subscribed, as I just found
out yesterday that my 14 yr. old male neuter Maine Coon boy, Geordi,
is diabetic.  He'd been drinking lots of water and peeing a lot for
the past week, so I took him and his step-brother, Data, (who is 13
Maia Kitty has Hyperthyroid Disease05 Dec 2004 17:03 GMT35
Maia Kitty was recently diagnosed with Feline Hyperthyroid disease. I
have created a website (www.savemaiakitty.com) to help raise money for
her treatment and to help others become more informed about this
common ailment in cats. If you have any helpful info about this
Am I feeding enough?04 Dec 2004 21:00 GMT34
Amber is a good sized cat and is a bit plump.  Tiger is gigantic
(possible Maine Coon).  He weighed in at 25 pounds at his last vet visit
in June.  The vet said he should lose some weight.  I am feeding one 5.5
ounce can of Wellness for the two cats in the morning and again in the
No ugly cats04 Dec 2004 14:17 GMT23
The question of beauty as a determining factor in cat adoption has recently
been discussed in another thread. Once again, this gave me grounds to ponder
my adoption of Duffy. (Of course, I freely admit that *it doesn't take much*
to provoke me into talking about Duffy and Holly.  ...
Cat cannot wee04 Dec 2004 13:47 GMT12
My 2 year old cat goes about every 10 mins to his tray to try and wee  he
squats there for a good 5 mins with no success I noticed this a few days
ago.  I am about to take him to the vets.  Any one know or has experienced
this on there cat and what it might be.
Laser-Pens: Cat/Dog Exercise Danger04 Dec 2004 06:40 GMT56
I have seen a number of articles and websites recently where the
laser-pen has been extolled as a great way of exercising cats or dogs
(you stay stationary and shine the "light" around the room, and the
animal rushes round in a frenzy of delight after the bright red dot).
searching for the elusive "brendel (spelling?) cat"04 Dec 2004 03:39 GMT26
An associate of mine recently lost her cat of 19 years.  A close
friend of hers told me that the cat was of the type "brendel".
Similar to a calico, but with a great deal of red. short-haired,
short-statured, and thin; "sleek", as he put it.  I have searched
the unending joy of tub poo04 Dec 2004 00:43 GMT12
My cat has always been rather fond of the bathtub.  For as long as I've had
him, he would periodically hop in and run his front paws in place in the
sloping end of the tub.
This amusing display has long since degenerated into him pooping (or peeing)
questions about raising a (feral?) cat03 Dec 2004 22:58 GMT8
After reading this ng for a while, especially info about ferals, I have a few
questions.  You see, I was always a dog person before Oscar adopted me, and I
really didn't know the first thing about cats.  So, a few questions.
Oscar was born to a stray (I suppose feral is the right ...
