High liver enzymes, THYROID NORMAL, losing weight15 Nov 2004 19:13 GMT2
Hi, I have a 13-year-old neutered male cat who, for the last little while,
has had a ravenous appetite, is basically screaming for food all the time,
eats like a horse, but is dramatically losing weight and obviously isn't
feeling well. My first thought was hyperthyroidism. However, ...
Female cat scared of female kitten15 Nov 2004 18:44 GMT5
I have a 7 year old, female, spayed cat. the family 2 doors away have a
female cat and 2 female kittens. recently I have noticed that 1 of the
kittens, who is about half the size of my cat, keeps chasing my cat off. is
it natural that my cat should be scared of a kitten half her ...
Microchip question15 Nov 2004 13:21 GMT4
Can anyone tell me whether microchips are ever implanted anywhere
besides between the shoulderblades?  I found a kitten who seems to be
about 6 or 7 months old and there is a bump in her ear.  I thought it
was a scab or scar from getting boxed but it isn't.  It feels almost
changing cat litter need recommendations15 Nov 2004 12:55 GMT18
I've been using mostly Everclean brand litter  with my two cats but want
to change to a more heathy chumping with no dust.
Odor is a major issue besides dust as we move the box from basement to
dining room area during the winter months.
To the users of the wheat kitty litter15 Nov 2004 12:34 GMT24
I've never used this litter before, but it was recommended for
kittens, so I got it, and they were used to it from the rescuers
house. They like it fine, but does the stuff always stick to the
litter pan, and seem like it needs a chisel to get it out?  New pan,
Cat Vomiting - please help15 Nov 2004 12:32 GMT24
I have a 13 1/2 year old male tabby.  About four months ago he started
to vomit usually, but not always shortly after eating.  Since I only
feed him once a day that meant he threw up all his food for the day.
Right after that he'd be begging for food.  I took him to the vet who
Kidney disease and hairballs15 Nov 2004 10:58 GMT5
My cat has mild kidney failure and is now eating one of those low
protein special diets.  She used to eat hairball formula cat food that
helped a lot with her hairballs.  Now that she's not eating that I
started giving her one of the petroleum hairball rememdys.  However
Feline Vitamin recommendations15 Nov 2004 09:06 GMT4
In an earlier post I asked about Feline AIDS. The vet has been helpful in
keeping him comfortable and happy but has recommended vitamin supplements in
addition to his medication, specifically "B" vitamins.
In a nut shell, the vet charges too much as do the local pet shops (Japan)
Laxatone question14 Nov 2004 02:12 GMT19
My boy, who blocked for urine once a year ago, presented the same
symptoms.  So we went off to the vet immediately; she stated he was
blocked with feces, not urine.   He has stopped horking hairballs, which
he used to do on a weekly basis.  And he's also trying to gobble my
I got LumpyNeck14 Nov 2004 01:19 GMT9
I caught Lumpy Neck in the trap this AM! She'll go to the vet today.
I'll let you know how she makes out. This is good. Still working on
OneEye, but Lumpy needs medical attention just as much. More than just
'routine maintnenance and check ups like the others.

Territory issues13 Nov 2004 23:43 GMT2
I have two female nutered cats. The first in the house (Natasha) hid for
months so I got a second (Lucy) to entice her out.
Didn't work, so I brought Natasha upstairs to an extra bedroom and she went
from ferocious to timid, but can't get out of the room because Lucy controls
New cat food results! Merrick!13 Nov 2004 22:50 GMT16
I've been keeping track of how my three cats react to various foods
(all canned) since I want them to eat quality food and hate throwing
the (expensive) stuff away. So I buy a bunch of different brands from
the big local pet store and keep a pad by the feeding station
Urine /  feces cleaning suggestions?13 Nov 2004 18:28 GMT1
cats, 3 littermaid Mega litter boxes.
About twice a month, one or more of my cats has will urinate and defecate on
3 different spots of our playroom. Occasionally, I have obviously forgotten
to empty the litter trays and can only blame myself, the other times the
Odd scratching fetish13 Nov 2004 17:32 GMT3
My white spayed female double clawed 4 yr old has always loved to
scratch at shiny flat surfaces.  She goes nuts on a magazine cover or
any shiny package.  She will go at it for a couple of minutes
sometimes.  She looks like she is trying to clear a space to use a
