Cat vomits all the time21 Oct 2004 19:38 GMT7
My mom has a cat who vomits more than seems normal, and she asked me
to post here for advice. She's been through two vets and every idea
they both recommended, without any improvement.
Every week, she has a couple of days that she'll vomit three to four
Chicago: Low-income vet services?21 Oct 2004 18:59 GMT9
Anybody in Chicago know of a low-income vet services program?
I'm living on unemployment, which isn't even enough to pay my bills, and
my cats need shots and some other really minor care.
I was told to try the anti-cruelty society, and their website does
squirrel bite--Mary in LA, are you there?21 Oct 2004 18:23 GMT19
My cats brought in a baby squirrel and I saved its neck (a scene that looked
like the silliest slapstick movie you can imagine, up and down two levels of
stairs), but the little critter nipped me a couple of times.  I loosed him
on the front porch and he scurried off.
Urgent: Need help with cats fighting21 Oct 2004 07:37 GMT7
We have two seven year-old brothers--Buck (long black hair) and Curly
(Siamese in appearance).  They have always lived together and gotten
along well, with only minor brief hissing incidents occassionally.
Most of the time they were good pals, spending lots of time sitting
One Sister (Cat) Suddenly Hates the Other21 Oct 2004 07:26 GMT8
I tried to post this last night through Google Groups but something
happened. Please forgive me if it's a double post.
One of my cats is suddenly hissing and growling whenever she is in
close proximity to her sister. She even sometimes runs at her and
Elmo's new game21 Oct 2004 04:42 GMT6
Elmo is five months old and has boundless energy.  He loves to bat a
practice golf ball around the room.  This evening, I threw his ball across
the room - through the open door and into the adjoining room.  Elmo took
after it at top speed.  I heard him chasing it around the room.  ...

PSS kitten/ Update20 Oct 2004 17:07 GMT3
I posted a while back about my foster kitten Ana, who had seizures and was
diagnosed with PSS.
Just wanted to update that she is doing very well, hasn't had any seizures
since.  She is a very active kitten, about 5 months old now.  Ana is small

Post flea's question20 Oct 2004 04:53 GMT2
We have a beautiful 15 year old small framed cat and this year her
temperament has completely changed. Our dog has brought in some fleas
this year and we applied a flea powder to the cat which has always
worked. Maybe we were a little late in realizing she had the fleas as

My 12 week old kitten keeps sneezing. I'm a bit worried, I hope she's
not ill.
The house is warm and she doesn't go outside. She's had her first
More about adopting at the cat show18 Oct 2004 16:30 GMT12
I spoke to a friend who also had gone to the cat show and got more
information about the adopt-a-thon part of the show. It was a combined
effort by several groups including North Shore and Petco. If you
wanted to adopt a cat from any of them you had to provide references
Is Moggie a derogatory term?18 Oct 2004 15:05 GMT29
There is a debate going on in a thread about whether or not "moggie" is a
derogatory term.
I, as I suspect other US cat-lovers, picked up the term here from our UK
friends, thinking it to mean an affectionate name for our mixed-breed cats.
Kitten pictures don't worry they're not cute18 Oct 2004 04:48 GMT7
Please look at these pictures and comment on the deformed teeth.  This
feral kitten's going in for exam and neutering Sunday and I wonder what
the vet will do to correct the problem, if anything.

hairballs18 Oct 2004 02:26 GMT6
My cat has been coughing and hacking up hairballs recently.
I did buy her some remedy.
My question is, are hairballs self-curing? Is the remedy just
something to make the humans feel better? Or is the remedy to make the
