Computer buddies28 Oct 2004 17:10 GMT23
Just curious--how many of you have cats who love to be near you when
you're on the computer? Benny has never been a lap cat with me (though
he is with my SO at times), so I found it surprising when he recently
started jumping on my lap while I'm on the computer.
our cat needed a perineal urethrostomy....28 Oct 2004 03:10 GMT24
Our cat had suffered his third blockage in eight months (his second
within a month), and something like his fifth or sixth blockage of his
life (he is over 9 years old) this past weekend. They were unable to
catheterize him this time, the catheter would only go in a very short

pressing them against her head and moves her head and generally
wiggles so much that i can't do anything at all.  she is NOT going to
sit quietly through this, but i have no idea what to do.  i read
Sleepy eyes27 Oct 2004 15:51 GMT1
Our visiting ginger tom has dark crusty bits in the corners of his
eyes. He looks like he has just got up and forgotten to clean his
eyes. The bits of crust won't wipe out with soft cloth.
Can anything be done about it?

Cat STILL Yowls in Early Morning26 Oct 2004 19:01 GMT4
Okay, so I got rid of the wicker table and bought a nice one from IKEA
instead.  And Mico STILL starts up around 5 in the morning!  He wants to be
petted and rubs his head against me.  He tries to walk up the grass mats I
have hanging on the wall.  He mews.  He yowls.  This goes on ...
Update on Trinity (kitten with eye problems)26 Oct 2004 17:31 GMT1
Well, so sorry that it has taken me so long to update the situation,
but I was kicked by a horse and spent several weeks recuperating.
Trinity just came back from the vets after finally getting her first
round of vaccines at 3 months. (for those who don't know, she is a
4 week old kitten not interested in "real" food -- help!26 Oct 2004 14:10 GMT6
We've been nursing a kitten we got as a rescue when he was 12 days
old.  He's now 4 weeks 4 days and thriving, thankfully.  However, he
doesn't want to eat anything except his formula.  I've offered various
flavors of canned food, thinned with water or formula, but he is not
<rant>Open letter to the dorks who dumped my future cat THREE TIMES26 Oct 2004 05:53 GMT4
Dear Dorks who were caretakers to my cat before I adopted her:
You are really missing out on a sweet cat. She is the model cat with
her kitty quirks and there is really nothing wrong with her.
She is affectionate, she purrs, is obedient, healthy, tries to please
We are worried26 Oct 2004 02:10 GMT20
Hi, all...
Our four year old male (Tomboy) swallowed something about thirty-six hours ago
that hasn't come out the other end yet. We are very worried that he might soon
be in trouble. The other night, my wife was trimming an 8-1/2 inch by 11 inch
Thank you everyone...my sweet baby girl passed away25 Oct 2004 21:17 GMT14
Thank you all so much for your responses to my postings.  I have not posted
here in several weeks, all my free time has been devoted to my little
Delilah...lying/cuddling with her, petting, brushing, medicating and
occasionally bathing when necessary and lots of cleanup.  Aside from ...
Down about Jackie25 Oct 2004 20:48 GMT17
Jackie's diarrhea has still not gotten better. In order to get all
three cats eating I let them have shitty food for a while (9lives,
Friskees, etc). Sure, they ate it but the litter really started
smelling foul. I never had litter odor problems before.

It is a matter to gain the affections of a cat.  He is a philosophical
animal, tenacious of his own habits, fond of order and neatness and
disinclined to extravagant sentiment. He will be your friend, if he find you
worthy of friendship, but not your slave.  Theophile Gautier

Home Ringworm Treatment25 Oct 2004 07:06 GMT2
I have a new rescue in my house that appears to have ringworm patch on
her head. I would guess her age at 10-12 weeks.  Is there a topical
anti-fungal (human) that would be safe to apply?
I know that the vet has the proper treatment but we have 7
