Argh!31 Oct 2004 14:49 GMT3
It is 5:30 on a Sunday morning, and I am awake, because my cats have
figured out how to open the kitchen cabinets. They don't have any handles,
so I cannot use elastic bands to hold them closed, and my cats love tape, so
I cant use that.
From the President of THe Last Resort Animal Sanctuary, Inc.31 Oct 2004 06:34 GMT29
It has come to my attention that a particularly alarming, and
disrepectful thread has been posted to a newsgroup on Google Groups.
As
President, Founder, and primary Caretaker, I am resisting the urge to
neighbors cat issues31 Oct 2004 05:25 GMT1
I recent weeks I posted messages asking for advice about my neighbours
cat.   There was a problem because she had a bad flea allergy which he
would not deal with and in the end I took her to the vet.   Since then
he has kept her inside except for a couple of occasions.   She is an
how much does your vet charge?31 Oct 2004 01:34 GMT7
I paid $300 for the vet to treat my cat's abscess this time (including
sedation, cutting  the wound open to clean it out, antibiotics injection,
and oral  antibiotics to give her at home). We tried to keep her inside,
but she managed to get out and get botten by a neaighborhood ...
Cat's a Vegan??31 Oct 2004 01:30 GMT4
We have always given PJ, our indoor-only cat, bits of Boston lettuce.
The darker the leaf, the more he likes it.
In the last week or so, though, he's really gone crazy for the stuff. He
still likes his regular food (Purina Indoor Cat formula) but ignores
Chronic cold - please advise31 Oct 2004 01:26 GMT7
My cat has an immune disorder disease and is suffering from a constant cold,
with snot running out of his nose all the time. Although the cat (1 year)  has
been having this problem since birth, the little guy is extremely lively and
playful.
The integration of Francis30 Oct 2004 22:54 GMT5
Francis tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS Wednesday,
so today is the beginning of his integration into the general population
of cats at my house.
I brought him down about 40 minutes ago, while the Big Three were curled
Our cats.30 Oct 2004 22:52 GMT9
Thanks for the previous advice RE Ticks and Mites.  All the cats are fine
now!!!  I thought I would share some photos of our lot with you!
Tigger, our kitty has designed his own web site!!!  He would be grateful if
you guys could have a peek and tell him what you think!  In a mad ...

AAFCO?30 Oct 2004 12:56 GMT6
I'm confused what AAFCO is. It does not appear to be a government
agency, however many of its board of directors seem to be state agency
officials.
I assume AAFCO is an industry group?
Two Feral Cats30 Oct 2004 05:11 GMT48
I recently started working in a place where I frequently see two
obviously feral cats in the back parking lot. They are both adults,
all white, beautiful cats, but a little skinny, and kinda mangy, but
they look in good health otherwise prbably siblings. The parking lot
Any advice? sort of long30 Oct 2004 03:07 GMT13
About 14 days ago my cat of 6 years (Moggy, spayed calico female, 6
years old), attacked me with all the ferocity and viciousness of a
wild animal.  She wanted to hurt me and hurt me badly.  It was only
the quick thinking of my husband and a handy chair that kept her from
Amlodipine (Norvasc) for treating kidney failure / eye problems?30 Oct 2004 02:48 GMT1
I'm aware that a few years ago a drug company was doing a study on the
effectiveness of Amlodipine in cats to treat kidney failure.
Amlodipine is (I believe) a treatment for high blood pressure, and
perhaps a reduction in blood pressure (even in cats with normal blood
Hyperthyroidism and aggression (?)29 Oct 2004 16:43 GMT1
Is there a link between hyperthyroidism and aggression and/or
terratoriality towards other cats in a household?
We have a 12 year old male (approx. 18 lbs) with confirmed (but mild)
hyperthyiodism (and arthritis).  He's been sharing the house and yard
