Is this cat food okay?08 Sep 2004 00:30 GMT26
Have two cats.  One is way overweight, the other fine.
They've been free-feeding their whole lives--in recent years, dry
weight-management kibble.
Decided to feed less.. feed only a couple times a day and use canned wet
Cat Only Eats Crunchies07 Sep 2004 20:21 GMT20
Okay, I admit it, I spoiled Mico rotten when I first got him.  He got
Science Diet, then a Fancy Feast, then another Science Diet, then another
kind of Fancy Feast, etc.   So now *whatever* wet food I feed him, he only
takes a few nibbles, if that, and then it's off to crunchy-land. ...
Inconsistent feral cat statistics07 Sep 2004 16:44 GMT6
Because I've come to cats late in life I have found it helpful to read
books on their care.
One thing bothering me is that the statistics on feral cats from several
sources are not consistent.
nighttime crazies07 Sep 2004 16:38 GMT18
I have two cats: one male, one female, both under 3 years old, both
fixed, both have claws.  At around 4 am, they go bonkers chasing each
other up and down our long, wood-floored hallway.  This not only wakes
us up, but I'm sure it can be heard below by our neighbors (they've
Cat Eats Paper07 Sep 2004 16:04 GMT8
My 3 year old male cat has developed a paper-eating fixation and he's
driving me crazy. He is well-fed, has a sister to play with, and gets
a lot of attention and love. All the papers on my desk have teeth
marks on them.
Kitten had seizures07 Sep 2004 08:38 GMT20
Yesterday, my foster kitten Ana, about 4 months old but underweight (she was
a stray just recently brought to the shelter), had a seizure around 4:30 pm.
I was taking a nap at the time and heard a thumping noise and meowing.  I
found her on the floor drooling and looking out of it.  ...
partial spontaneous abortion07 Sep 2004 07:29 GMT39
my 14-month-old cat is pregnant (about six weeks). Today she has had a
miscarriage and has expelled two foetuses. The vet says there is another in
her womb, but that it must be dead and she will probably expell it before
tomorrow. If not, I must take her to the vet to have the third ...
Changing litter pans06 Sep 2004 20:11 GMT7
One of my cats is bad about peeing off the edge of her litter
pan. Changing it often doesn't help. So I bought a much larger
pan, thinking at her old age she was having trouble manouvering
in the smaller pan.
advice about a cat health issue06 Sep 2004 20:07 GMT2
I would be pleased to receive some advice .  I think the cats owner is
likely to go to have to go to see the vet.   She has a loss of fur and
angry looking lesions/reddening around her anus.    She isnt biting or
scratching at the area nor is she avoiding sitting.     See
My Cat's Tail06 Sep 2004 04:53 GMT19
Hello folks.  I came home from eating dinner tonight and started petting my
cat when he meowed in pain at me.  Upon further inspection I realized his
tail was all the way down.  Maceo is a year-old Siamese mix and his tail is
always up flowing like a question mark.  There is some ...
Sproket -- the feral who came in from the cold06 Sep 2004 02:54 GMT4
Well, Sprocket went to the vet today.  She pronounced that he is four
weeks old, one pound in weight, no sign of fleas (so what's been biting
me?), no ear mites, has a little conjunctivitis, probably does have
worms, and is one of the cutest little critters she's seen in a while. ...
Marbles Update06 Sep 2004 02:33 GMT10
I got home from meeting my new feline brother, Henry, in Indiana to find that
life at home had not progressed any as to Marbles getting along with my 2
resident cats.  It's been about 2.5 months now since he moved in.  Of course,
there were a couple of minor altercations while I was ...
Impaction?06 Sep 2004 02:15 GMT14
My cat, Toby, has a dark-colored, hard bump on one side of his anus.
It's a little smaller than a baby-pea.  I can also just barely see a
very small bump on the other side.  He hasn't exhibited any signs of
anal gland problems, though - no scooting, etc.  He eats dry Iams food
Hyperthyroidism06 Sep 2004 02:07 GMT12
My siamese is 15yrs. old and has been dia. with Hyperthyriod. We went with
the meds instead of the radiation or surgery because of the high cost. Now
the problem is he has had bad reactions to it . He stopped eating and had to
be force fed and now has loss a large amount of weight. ...
brain tumor getting worse, when is it time?05 Sep 2004 08:32 GMT8
Things have gotten worse.  At 4 am I was shocked out of my sleep, my cat was on
the bed having a seizure.  This one lasted 1-2 minutes and was followed by a
couple minutes of intermittent growling.
It must've started on the floor, there was a trail of urine spots leading to
