blind or nearly so cat05 Sep 2004 03:53 GMT6
One of my cats is going blind.  I'm taking him to the vet at the first
available appt, but does anyone have  any experience with a
very-sight-restricted cat?
He has always been indoor, still finds his food and litter box, and is
Icarus Attacks04 Sep 2004 23:31 GMT15
I was wondering if any of you had an idea how to get Icarus to stop
attacking my other cats. He seems to always chase after Isis and there has
been some agressive wrestling and biting. As a result she cries, growls and
hisses, then she runs away from him. He then still chases after ...
Is my vet too expensive?04 Sep 2004 21:49 GMT13
I just read a discussion where a vet had quoted $400 to spay a cat and
everyone
thought that was ridiculous.  Well, I suspect my vet's bill would come
close to that,
Question about cat with leg tumor (longish)04 Sep 2004 17:32 GMT3
I'm somewhat confused about a situation with my cat, and would really
appreciate some informed advise. To start, I have a cat who is approximately
15 yrs. old who has a large growth on his left-rear leg - it's about the
size of a small peach and is ulcerating the skin to the point ...
Weighing your cat: an interesting idea04 Sep 2004 13:48 GMT8
I subscribe to CatWatch (a newsletter published by Cornell). They had
an article about caring for cats' health problems, and mentioned a
couple's solution to getting an accurate, regular weight on their cat:
going to the post office!

Where are you? We can disagree about things--even passionately. Even Phil.
;) But that doesn't mean you have to clam up. I miss hearing about your
cats, and want to know how things are going with the new "children."
Please come back an give us an update.

MOUTH ULCERS (UPDATE)04 Sep 2004 01:25 GMT1
Had Kiki to the vet today. He suspects stomatitis.
He gave her an injection of Depo-Medrol which he says seems to be
working well in a number of his patients with the same problem.
He advised against pulling teeth if it isn't necessary as it could

Starving Cats????03 Sep 2004 21:38 GMT4
I have 2 cats.  One is a male 3 1/2 year old, the other a one year old
female.  The older cat is 13.2 lbs and the younger 10.5.  The vet said
their weight is fine, but I shouldn't let them get any heavier.  By
looking at them, I think they're a little on the "pudgy" side compared

Travel Dilemma03 Sep 2004 20:28 GMT5
I need to hear some thoughts.  I've been assigned to work on an audit
in another state.  I don't mind--it is what I signed up for.  The
problem is what to do about Kami.  Usually when we do out of state
audits, they go for two weeks at a shot.  It would be rough, but I

cat with vaginal infection03 Sep 2004 14:27 GMT1
I am fostering a kitten who has a vaginal infection.  It was first
diagnosed by the vet about two weeks ago when she was just 6 weeks.
He suggested waiting a week before giving her antibiotics because she
was quite small.  A week later, the infection was getting worse (more
