Jackie meets the Dentist26 Aug 2004 04:40 GMT8
I took Jackie to the Pro Vets today and we had a consult with the
dentist. As an aside, all signs are that the WBC count (high polys)
indicates that she does not have leukemia but does have a chronic
infection, which we know.
Attn: Cheryl -- Cat Enclosure Gate pictures26 Aug 2004 03:09 GMT5
I told you I'd post some pictures of the Friendly Fence gate when I got
my camera fixed. Here they are -- as you can see, there's no problem
getting a mower in here. And it's also plenty good at keeping big bad
feral cats out so I's don't have'n to blast 'em.
Icarus Update25 Aug 2004 21:42 GMT10
For those that are curious, Icarus got his FELV/FIV test done today and it
was negative. He also got his shots as well but I was told that he was a
real firecracker with the doctor and the vet techs. He is 8 months old
(although they also told me a second time he was 7 months old). ...
Obessive Behavior25 Aug 2004 19:45 GMT9
Does anyone remember this guy who is literally trying to become a cat. Now
he wants to surgically alter himself to walk on all fours. Now this guy is
strange and obsessive!

Kami has Successful Dental25 Aug 2004 18:34 GMT6
I've been concerned about Kami's approaching dental because of her CRF,
heart murmur, etc., and her previous vet not wanting to do it.  But I
took her in today and the vet said she was a champ.  She went through
the anesthesia just fine, woke up right away like she was supposed, ...
tick?25 Aug 2004 13:47 GMT7
I just got a new rescue kitten today. She has a yuck brown, shiny, hard,
oval - thing - on her shoulder. It's about the size of a small pea but
elongated. An engorged tick maybe??????????
If it's a tick should I try to remove it or should I just treat it with

I have had this cat for about 2 years & the best cat in the world so far

Sammy - No More Sixpacks!!!24 Aug 2004 23:30 GMT34
Sammy finally has no more concerns with those pesky ovaries. The local
animal rescue group sponsored a spay day for cats this past Friday and I got
Sammy done for a mere $20. We also took the recently abandoned female, Hobo,
that was taken in by my neighbor to get fixed. When I told ...
Buddha's Progress24 Aug 2004 22:17 GMT5
(Buddha is a severely hyperthyroid 10-year-old fat tuxedo cat who has
fainting spells, who had an ultrasound of her heart a week or so ago, which
was healthy, and is now on Tapazole and a beta blocker, for new people.)
Her heart rate is ranging between 160 and 180 bpm now, (it was ...
OBESITY IN CATS24 Aug 2004 19:46 GMT3
Obese cats can predispose to Diabetes, Hepatic Lipidosis and arthritis.
FREE CHOICE FEEDING
THE main reason for feline obesity (as well as obesity in other mammals) is
the consumption of too much food.   Deny it all you want, it is a fact.
What age to Neuter,my boy24 Aug 2004 15:38 GMT4
He was born on April 18th,2004. When should I neuter him?
Feline Leukemia - need suggestions for postive cat living with negative cat.24 Aug 2004 10:44 GMT43
3 weeks ago I adopted two 4-5 month old kittens (male and female from
same litter) from an animal shelter.  They had already been
spayed/neutered and the shelter said that the tests for all 3 deadly
cat virus (includ FeLV) came back negative.  At the time the cats were
Grumpy Cat23 Aug 2004 22:17 GMT7
I have a neutered male cat. He was  really a happy cat until we got a new
kitten(I work at Lowes and found her all the way on the top racks in a box).
He was pretty good with her when we first got her, didn't really care that
she was around. But as she's getting bigger he seems to ...
Any Idea's???23 Aug 2004 22:05 GMT11
I have a 6 year old female spayed siamese.  Today I happened to look
down the hall she was in the middle of the hall, and she just squatted
and pooped, she wasn't upset about anything, just calmly pooped "a lot"
a walked away.

Shaina clearly loves me.  she follows me around everywhere.  if i go
to my room from my bf's room where we usually sleep, she follows me
and lies down on the bed, or just tries to play.  she "grooms" me.
mostly my hands, but sometimes she grooms my face.  she sleeps next to
