My cat - Tuo-Te - is getting on in years, and my vet has recommended
he go on Potassium supplements to curb his early stage kidney failure.
The supplements are $40 Canadian for a 2 month supply.
I've been thinking - if my chemistry is correct, Potassium is an
IAMS CAT FOOD ?21 Jul 2004 21:32 GMT19
If you buy dog or cat food from the Iams Pet Food Company, you need to
visit a website iamscruelty.com.
Apparently, Iams keeps cats and dogs to TEST their foods on before it
goes to market. I had no idea pet food manufacturers used animals to

Flea treatment safe for young kittens?21 Jul 2004 18:39 GMT4
A friend of mine e-mailed me from New York.  She found a stray cat,
who was pregnant and subsequently gave birth to 7 kittens.  They are
about a week and a half old.  She found fleas on one of the kittens,
and was wondering what product would be safe for kittens this young.
Do new cats NEED to fight the residents?21 Jul 2004 06:22 GMT18
I'm getting some conflicting info from googling this whole
"introducing a new cat" thing.
There is a viewpoint out there that a new male, in particular, will
need to rassle with the current residents in order to establish the
Kitten intestinal noises?21 Jul 2004 00:19 GMT3
I have a litter of foster kittens, about 8-9 weeks old.  I was just upstairs
playing with them, and one of the kittens was making all these digestive
noises, like gurgling sounds.  I looked to see if he had anything leaking
out of his butt, didn't see anything.  He was playing and ...
Thyroid surgery20 Jul 2004 23:19 GMT49
Buddha's checkup today revealed that she is indeed hyperthyroid. The doctor
showed me how enlarged her thyroid is now. I'm kicking myself because
another vet saw this a year ago, but because her T3 levels were only
high-normal I did nothing. (Either I misunderstood what this ...
smells unpleasing to cats20 Jul 2004 22:59 GMT5
I'm looking for a way to deter my cats from getting up on to my sofa.
Currently I cover the sofa with stuff, but that makes it difficult for
humans to use.
I am looking for a scent--non-toxic and preferably organic--that I can spray
Recommendations on cordless clippers.20 Jul 2004 22:07 GMT12
I'm looking for recommendations on a good cordless clipper to cut the
hair of a (very impatient) cat.
He has very thick fur and must be trimmed once or twice a year
(especially for the summer months), but he's fidgety and won't stand still
Science diet Advanced Protection for cats20 Jul 2004 09:45 GMT6

Happy Ending for Two Cats20 Jul 2004 07:55 GMT7
Thought I'd just post a quick message about how things turned out with
the strays I've been working with.  The little black and white guy
with the severe URI went to a no kill shelter and was adopted two days
later.  The brown tabby with the degloved chin and FIV finally tested
I know it's very soon...20 Jul 2004 03:36 GMT8
But I've been looking at Petfinder. I really love Maine Coons but I'd
rather find one that needs a home badly, or a "wanna be". I still
need to have Shamrock and Bonnie FeLV tested again before I even
consider adopting another cat. Then again, I've thought maybe I
Crazy Cat?20 Jul 2004 02:32 GMT3
My girlfriend has 2 cats that are brother/sister and both are just over a
year old and both spayed/neutered. One day a stray cat wandered outside the
house and she pet this cat and gave it some food, and both cats saw this

Can Hyperthyroidism CAUSE High Liver Enzymes ...20 Jul 2004 02:10 GMT8
in cats with no liver damage?
This is apparently the question.
Talked to my vet today, and he will agree that Buddha should have Tapazole
before the ratiation treatment if I can find an article that says that
My baby kitty19 Jul 2004 21:22 GMT8
Please help. I had a new kitten about 2.5 months ago. He was found in a
storage shed at an apt complex along with all the tools and lawn care
equipment that comes in one. We had no idea how old he was when they gave
him to me, and although he was really small he seemed to be doing ...
