IVD for struvite, any experience?19 Jun 2004 15:07 GMT43
My Farfou has been diagnosed with struvite crystals.
After 5 days at the vet he came back home. I am supposed to feed him
Hill's c/d prescription diet but he refused to touch it and it has
been 3 days now ...
cat urinating outside the litter box..19 Jun 2004 05:26 GMT13
I have a 17-year old cat who has recently become hyperthyroid.  For
the last 2 years or so, she exclusively urinates outside the litter
box.  She uses her box for feces no problem.  I've tried a new box,
moving the box away from  other boxes, changing litters,etc...all to
constant licking19 Jun 2004 04:36 GMT3
I know a cat that constantly licks himself; making himself bare skin in
areas and now getting a little raw. He's had medical  tests and nothing
shows up. At one time he was put on a medicine that made him sluggish and
almost inactive( plus a weight gain). His family really don't ...
Unfriendly Kitty :(19 Jun 2004 03:49 GMT19
Our new kitty is about 12 weeks old now.  We've had him about a month.
When we first got him, he was sweet and loveable and would come and
sit in my lap. That lasted about a week. Now he's completely
stand-offish, and runs and hides whenever I approach.  If I ever do
FERAL CAT ADVICE?19 Jun 2004 00:53 GMT15
we took in a feral cat that was at the time about 2/3 of a yr old and we've
had her for about 6 months.  she adorable and very loving but only with me
and only on her terms. she's very freindly towards me but will only be an
amicable cat when she wants which is usually late at night ...
Cat-Boy and the Air Conditioner18 Jun 2004 17:58 GMT6
Got hot here today, 33 degrees. First day I had to turn on the air
conditioners.
The one in the computer room sits in a window. The window has a stool
in front of it that I put there so Cat-Boy can look out and survey the
Goodish news for Jackie Cat18 Jun 2004 13:14 GMT13
Jackie is the 5 pound 12 year old (or more) cat that I adopted last
month. After more than three weeks on antibiotics she has gained 7/10
of a pound. The vet was very pleased and thinks that there is no need
to try to get more blood out of her for testing. His thinking is that
Newly solo cat18 Jun 2004 07:00 GMT7
I have just recently lost one of my kitties (12 years) to a sudden
pulmonary embolism, and the other cat (Jane) doesn't really seem to
care that much.  She is an exclusively indoor cat and reacts very
strongly when other cats are lurking around the house.  Additionally,
Scary episode last night18 Jun 2004 02:32 GMT5
I have a foster cat, Hushpad, who's been here for about a month now.  She's
ten years old, was just spayed and had dental work done on Thursday last
week.  Hushpad weighs maybe 5 lbs and is a frail little cat.  She's very,
very clingy and requires a lot of attention.  She came from ...
Can't keep cats from scratching at bedroom door17 Jun 2004 18:48 GMT17
I can't hear it. Or, at least it isn't waking me up. But it's waking my
wife up every night 4 or 5 times. They scratch and scratch and scratch.
We've been trying the vacuum cleaner thing and that doesn't work. They
still come back and scratch. If we're desparate for sleep we give ...
Cat Anal Gland Issues17 Jun 2004 15:03 GMT13
I've posted on rec.pets.cats in the past, but finally have a news server
that carries rpch&b - hooray.  Hopefully this place has a lot less warring
going on over indoor/outdoor, to d*claw or not to d*claw, etc. :-)  Those
are the main reasons I stopped posting and reading over there ...
is it possible to feed a kitten too much?17 Jun 2004 14:56 GMT9
Shaina became a little food-monger.  now a tea-spoon of canned food is
not enough and she can gulp down a table spoon.  her tummy looks
normal for a kitten, as i was told here, but it seems to make it
uncomfortable for her to clean herself.  she demands her wet food, but
Struvite crystals, cat in pain, prescription diets Hill's & IVD17 Jun 2004 05:52 GMT27
My 'little' Farfou had to go in emergency to the vet last Tuesday.

bloated kitten17 Jun 2004 05:08 GMT1
I wrote before about one of the 3 kittens I rescued. I have another one
in the litter that has problems. He seems bloated all the time, I had
him to the vet and she sent home worm meds and some antibotic's because
his poop was a black/green, a possible sign of an infection. She also
should I change cat routine with company?17 Jun 2004 04:34 GMT4
I've got 2 adults and 2 preteen kids coming for a week to 10 day
visit.  My cat hides under the bed when anyone comes in.  I have
comtemplated
a.  setting up his food, water and litter in a bathroom where he won't
