15 yrs old - just went blind29 Jun 2004 13:20 GMT45
Shana has now gone blind at the age of 15.  I just had her to an
excellent vet & had blood tests, etc.  She's actually doing quite well
although there are signs of kidneys getting older.  A bit of blood in
her urine, but I've been given an anti-biotic.  Some pressure in her
Hello, I'm new here29 Jun 2004 02:32 GMT3
I found this group, knowing beforehand that there must be a wealth of
knowledge within the group, who are cat owners and I hope that some cat
owners/cat friends can answer some of my questions. I recently was given
a cat, and his medical (papers) background history shows that he is ...
Picky Eaters29 Jun 2004 02:22 GMT39
I thought I'd seen it all but of course, I am wrong.
Stella and Delilah have voiced their opinion that they don't like left overs
so instead of getting the large tins of food, they get the mini ones now.
They can split one per meal. Ok fine.
very stong urine odor29 Jun 2004 01:34 GMT9
Our rescue litter left yesterday for PetSmart to find their forever homes.
This prompted a marathon clean up the kitty litter they scattered everywhere
session. I must have really gotten into the swing of things because I
decided to scoop the big guys litter while I was at it (a ...
Babies? What babies? I haven't seen any babies....29 Jun 2004 01:32 GMT51
With the kittens almost 2 weeks old, Sammy decided today was moving day. She
moved all her babies from the maternity box to a far corner under my wife's
dresser. I came home, saw the empty box and began the interrogation.
"Where's the babies, Sam?" "Muwahhh?" (translation - "Huh?") ...
Yay, Kitty Klips28 Jun 2004 22:40 GMT3
My senior kittizens are too old to climb the 6-foot privacy (plank)
fence that surrounds their area of the yard, but I've had a problem
with a couple of new young toms in the neighborhood jumping in
to bother them.  Since the supporting posts are on the inside, I
Friskies it is!28 Jun 2004 20:41 GMT30
I'm about to give up on trying to get the boys to eat healthy food.
I've never had cats that were so finicky. Even the few healthy foods
they liked before, like Wellness Chicken and Triumph Salmon no longer
make the grade. They just look at me like I'm insulting them and Nipsy

A parallel universe28 Jun 2004 16:40 GMT49
My cats will often, both while fighting with a piece of paper and when just
walking down the hall, look up at a bare wall and jump about two feet off
the floor and take off as if I had caught them stealing off the dinner
table.
Safe ear mite treatment?28 Jun 2004 16:25 GMT4
Is there a safe and effective over the counter treatment for cats with ear
mites?
I know hartz has one, but I've been reading that hartz products can harm
cats so I'm not so sure about using that one.
Hushpad was adopted today!28 Jun 2004 08:02 GMT8
A couple with a young daughter, about 7 years old, adopted my foster cat
Hushpad today!  I was initially thinking she needed an adult home, but the
girl is very sweet and quiet, and wanted a kitty she can carry around and
sleep with her, and Hushpad fits that bill.  I explained her ...

TK  Update28 Jun 2004 00:01 GMT13
Just a quick note to say little TK is nursing well and growing at the age of
five days, and Cesca continues to be an excellent mother cat. =o) TK climbs
all over her as if she was a huge, furry boulder.  I believe that Cesca too,
is feeling better after her major procedure on Monday ...

I went to the drug store yesterday and they were
out of the syringes with 30-gauge x 1/2" needles.
So I bought a box with 31-gauge x 5/16" needles
instead.
