All You Can Eat Cicadas06 May 2004 01:02 GMT18
I just read an article
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040429/ap_on_re_us/cicadas_pets_1
that suggests keeping pets indoors for a while because of the
'once-every-17-years mating dance' of the Cicadas. It says that pets
clear discharge from eye?06 May 2004 00:53 GMT6
Hey everyone,
My fiance and I adopted another kitty on Sunday, a little female tabby, from
the local humane society. The lady who's been fostering her was really great
and even gave us her phone number to call in case the little one didn't get

Wood scratchin post better?05 May 2004 03:03 GMT14
I see these very expensive scratching posts at Petsmart.
I was thinking of making my own scratchin post for our new cats.
Does carpet really provide a scratching post for the cats?  These things
they sell look like fun toys for the cat but do they really provide a

My dear Sissy cat and I have moved alot in the past few years, but I have just

Socializing my cats04 May 2004 01:16 GMT14
Hi, I just joined this newsgroup.  I have 2 cats, they are 8 months old.  If
anyone comes over they hide under my bed and won't come out.  And if they
happen to come out for a sec and see my company the one will run away, the
other will growl and hiss... what is the best way to ...
Teaching Cats to Use a Cat Flap04 May 2004 00:13 GMT7
We have just installed a Pet Safe Training Systems Cat Flap (from the
Doctors Smith and Foster catalogue) in the door between our bedroom
and the rest of our apartment.  In weather like this (and in the early
Fall) when it is very warm on some days but cools way down on others,
Wine, Baking Soda and Vinegar for Cat Urine?03 May 2004 23:57 GMT2
My cat has a behavioral issue with urinating on my carpet (she has
been checked - this is a behavior problem).  I steam clean my carpet
about once a week, but I can still smell the urine smell sometimes.  I
always add OxyClean or Vinegar to the steamcleaner along w/the normal
Need advice - sick cat03 May 2004 14:46 GMT14
Have a 14 yr old female. Has lost much weight. Had very runny stools and
after each one would vomit. Now she won't eat at all, tries to drink
water. Can hardly walk, just wants to lay, seems to be in pain as can't
lay on side. Used to be very cuddly now doesn't want anything to do ...

Need TEMP foster home for our cat - Moving to Hawaii03 May 2004 03:51 GMT3
We need someone to take in our rescued, 4 year old, long-haired tabby
from the end of July until the middle to end of September.
We are moving to Hawaii and have not had him long enough for him to
have had 2 rabies shots, 90 days apart and 90 days prior to arriving
OK, I Have to Know the Signs of an Old Cat Nearing Death02 May 2004 22:51 GMT25
I read a lot of Google messages this morning and also searched some
sites.  Is "isolating" *always* a sign an old cat is preparing to die?
I'm so sad I can't see straight.  I can't catch this (former) feral
even though she sleeps with me, so I can't get her to the vet.  She'll
Me again - this time, Mollie's ears!!02 May 2004 15:37 GMT6
Well, today I noticed Mollie scratching her right ear more than usual, and
shaking her head.
Tonight we looked in there, and there is some dark brown wax in there,
whereas the left one is pretty much clear (apart from a few small bits).
