help with possibly sick cat, please?11 Apr 2004 22:33 GMT4
I just picked my cat up and it's weird, there's this very obvious sort
of "pulsing" going on all through the middle of his body, heart to
stomach, as if he's breathing really hard but he's not breathing very
hard at all. I put him down and he's still doing it. He wasn't running
Human food for cats ?11 Apr 2004 19:40 GMT21
In addition to things like Meow Mix and Purina Cat Chow available all day,
and Fancy Feast canned food three times a day, I give my cats some human
food as treats, or when they wont eat anything else.  Gerber chicken and
turkey baby food, and the thin sliced deli chick or turkey.  ...
bad smell11 Apr 2004 19:22 GMT3
I just got my third cat about 6 mo old, I found her lost and all alone in a
parking lot and she has a very bad litter smell. My other 2 cats dont smell
like this at all.  Does anyone know if a change of diet would help or maybe she
has a medical problem.

Serval Cat's Fate in Ordinance Limbo11 Apr 2004 08:05 GMT26
A friend just sent me this story.  A family bought an African Serval
kitten two years ago and now the city is thinking about making them get
rid of it.    It's totally a housecat.  Too beautiful for words.  I'm
not really for keeping such exotics, but this "kitty" is family and ...
Leaky cat question?11 Apr 2004 06:20 GMT7
This morning there was a yellowish spot about an inch diameter on
the towel that T.K. sleeps on. It was dry when I saw it and had no
discernable smell. So I put a couple of drops of water on it and it still
had no scent. I've seen him pee in his box twice today and he seemed

Infected pads11 Apr 2004 02:08 GMT3
I saw this on a forum and though someone here might know what it is .
* She has something that is making the very edge of her paws turn dark
and they are infected. The very centre of the pad is healthy with no
marking or afflication at all. This condition is affecting every foot
Feral neuter and release11 Apr 2004 02:05 GMT14
In the county where I live, we have a county run animal shelter and a few
privately run rescue shelters. The county shelter is in a state of turmoil,
no full time director(original fired a year ago - interim director quit
after 3 months), a few former employees doing expose type ...

I cancelled it because I forgot until it posted that it was in a very sad
thread.  God, I'm so sorry for doing that.  :(

Carbimazole Source for Hyperthyroidism?10 Apr 2004 19:26 GMT1
Does anyone know of a source for carbimazole?  I live in Seattle,
Washington and would like to try carbimazole for our 19-year-old
siamese kitty, Turi.  He has mild (subclinical?) hyperthyroidism and
also mild kidney failure.  Because of the kidney failure, radioactive

Cat suddenly pooping outside the box without reason10 Apr 2004 18:36 GMT8
I just received the following e-mail from a friend of mine:
"My 10yo male cat (only one) has suddenly decided in the last 24 hours
that he wants to crap on my couch and my bed. I have caught him
"getting ready" twice. Thankfully I got him in time before he was able
Kitty question10 Apr 2004 16:08 GMT6
I have a 9 year old cat and she did something I was curious about that maybe
everyone could offer some insight on. This cat (her name is bandit) has always
liked to be perched above everyone else, looking down, like on the china
closet, the refrigerator.  Last night, when we were ...
cat with pancreas problems10 Apr 2004 04:12 GMT9
I have a 13 yr old male cat. A blood test on him (1st time the cat had a
blood test) tells that an enzyme in his blood is very high due to the
pancreas not working properly, possibly pancreatic cancer. The normal level
for this enzyme is 300-1100, his level has varied during his 3 ...
