| radioactive iodine treatment | 15 Apr 2004 05:14 GMT | 10 |
I am going to be brining my cat in for radioactive iodine treatment (he has been on tapazole for a few years and is starting to have some adverse reactions to the drug). I was wondering if anyone has done this and could tell me what to expect when he comes home. Also, what

| merging households | 14 Apr 2004 21:42 GMT | 8 |
My new wife and I are going to be merging our households soon. I have one cat, she has two, and we're anticipating some feline disagreements. My cat is a crotchety old female who mostly ignores other cats, but

My 12 year old cat cat has just been diagnosed with intestinal cancer mostly because she has an elevated white blood count and a lowered protein and no other symptoms such as feline lukiema or thyroid trouble, and no kidney involvement. She does not have any liver

One of my cats likes to drink my Fresca. He actually has a brand preference. I know it's not normal but is it dangerous.

| Overcoming magnetic cat flaps | 14 Apr 2004 00:23 GMT | 5 |
I have a stray female who has become my cat's girlfriend. While I have a magnetic cat flap, after finding my cat letting her in by poking his nose out to release the flap, she has found out that by pulling the flap outwards with her claws she can get inside. I'd like her as mine

| Feces or vomit? | 13 Apr 2004 22:49 GMT | 15 |
I just woke up only to find that my 4 year old cat, Cherub, left something on my bed while I was asleep. It's shaped kind-of like feces, although flatter, smells like cat food, and has hair in it (coughing up a hair-ball maybe?) and is light/medium brown. Right now, I feed him ...

| incontinent kitty | 13 Apr 2004 19:01 GMT | 3 |
my cat is absolutely adorable, but she has some bad habits. She is peeing fairly consistently in her litter box, but she seems utterly unwilling to crap in the box. I have been cleaning the box quite regularly, and nothing seems to be changing. My mom wants to get rid of

| Anyone's Cat Have Asthma? | 13 Apr 2004 16:46 GMT | 23 |
My 9-month old spayed female has been diagnosed with asthma. She is being treated with Brethine and prednisone, along with an ointment for an opportunistic eye infection. Has anyone had any experience with this ... or suggestions?

| Identity Microchips | 13 Apr 2004 16:41 GMT | 1 |
Could an identity microchip implanted in a cat cause an allergic reaction? If so, what is the nature of the reaction? Thank you, in advance. Mike Crossland

| Did I read that correctly? | 13 Apr 2004 01:17 GMT | 33 |
A crawl at the bottom of the screen on CNN this morning says North Carolina is considering raising taxes on pet food as a means of reducing pet overpopulation. My first reaction would be that it's about as misguided as raising gas taxes to discourage consumption...

| when find kittens at shelter? | 13 Apr 2004 01:02 GMT | 13 |
We went to the shelter today to adopt two kittens. We want two so we can share them better in our family and so they will be happier when alone. but there were no kittens there. Only older cats...and no bonded pairs which we would consider too.

| FAQ it? | 12 Apr 2004 12:03 GMT | 11 |
I've noticed something since joining this group. Frequently, questions are asked about conditions that, while answered with what it probably is, are also left with encouragement to take the animal to the vet. Generally, a good thing, unless the cat is, say, coughing

| drinking problem | 12 Apr 2004 07:35 GMT | 9 |
OK, I thought I'd run this by the fine minds in RPCH+B (this newsgroup): I have a 14 year-old female, indoor only, neutered, whom I've had since about 4 weeks of age. She has multiple health issues (hypertropic cardiomyopathy, food allergy). On Feb 2nd I took her in for a blood ...

| Question on collars | 12 Apr 2004 00:51 GMT | 16 |
I've got 4 indoor only cats. All 4 are micro chipped, and wear break-away collars 24/7 with ID's, rabies tags, microchip info. It just occurred to me thought that they've been wearing these collars non-stop for about 4 months now since they've been off. I decided to take them
