Blood clot...24 Apr 2004 08:48 GMT14
Today, my 15 year old Ragdoll kitty suddenly started to drag her right back
leg.  We rushed her to the emergency 24 hour animal hospital.  We were told
that "the good news is" it is not a stroke.  The vet (soooo nice) said it
looks like she has thrown a blood clot.  The vet said ...
Anyone have experience with Chylothorax?24 Apr 2004 08:45 GMT11
I had to get Omar to the vet last night as he was having trouble
breathing. Xrays showed fluid around his lungs and they took 170 mls
out. The fluid fits the visual description of chlye to a T and will be
analyzed but won't go to the lab until later today. :-(

My little male cat, Eddie, is 9 years old.  In preparation for dental work, I
had his blood work done, as my vet requires.  The vet called me this afternoon
and said that his white cell count was slightly depressed (3,100), his red cell
count slightly elevated (didn't catch the ...

Kitty With Unexplained Fever - Please Suggest Something!23 Apr 2004 20:04 GMT9
My 2-yr old DSH spayed tabby has a REAL problem. She appeared to be
completely normal (eating, drinking, etc, sitting on laps in the morning,
but then
couldn't be found).  Discovered her on the bed upstairs, hunched over,
Feeding Question23 Apr 2004 16:03 GMT8
I have a very healthy, active, male Maine Coon mix.  He is approx a
year now and he HAS been tested twice (once within the last 3 months)
for FIV and Leukemia.  My question is that he doesn't eat very much,
and when I say a little, I mean, not even a 1/4 pack of wet food and
cat partially opens mouth and chatters teeth23 Apr 2004 12:28 GMT12
my newly adopted cat was watching birds out the window this morning - his tail
started swishing a bit - then it looked and sounded like he had his mouth
partially open (like when they do that smelling thing through their mouths) and
it sounded like his teeth were chattering - does ...
A Hissing Cat23 Apr 2004 02:21 GMT17
My pet cat who is 10 years old continues to hiss at my other cat who
is 8.  She has done this since we got the younger cat.  After 8 years
they don't fight as much anymore but the older cat still hisses.  They
are both female.  Has anyone had any similar experiences with their
Catharine Honeyman22 Apr 2004 22:47 GMT20
It is with great sadness that I share the news: Catharine Honeyman died
last night.
For those of you who were around back in February 2002, you will
remember the story of Jack and Catharine. For those of you who are new,
cat/pancreas update22 Apr 2004 22:35 GMT5
I posted 2-3 wks ago about my 13 yr old male cat who had a very high amylase
enzyme in his blood (2400-3600 reading where 300-1200 is normal).  The vet
at first said she thought it was pancreatic cancer, although he had no other
signs of illness. The vet referred me to a specialist.

bump on nose22 Apr 2004 19:45 GMT5
My 7 year old cat has developed a bump on his nose.  It's been there for a
few months and he was just in for his annual exam last weekend so I asked
about it.  We have recently moved and this is a new vet recommended by our
previous vet.  The vet said chances are it's a benign tumor ...
