Feel good story!14 Feb 2004 04:46 GMT3
I posted about a month ago to say that I had started volunteering at a local
shelter. I mostly help with the cats, but on one day my sister and I helped
out by walking some dogs. My sister told some co-workers about the dogs we
had walked, and yesterday, one of them adopted one of ...
Cat's cold?14 Feb 2004 04:23 GMT5
We got our young black part-Siamese cat from a cat rescue centre about
two months ago. They told us he had still had a cold at the time, but
we're a little concerned that he still has runny eyes. This can't still
be a cold can it? Any advice is appreciated.
Something weird on Camille14 Feb 2004 04:12 GMT11
So, last night as I was settling into bed, Camille came up for
petting. As I was giving her a rubdown, I noticed that something on
her left shoulder felt odd- almost like a mat, but more like she'd
gotten wet food glopped in her fur or something.
Odd kitten behavior , self-suckling14 Feb 2004 00:58 GMT1
I have a 5 month old kitten and she just started suckling on her own
teats.  I have heard of kittens suckling on objects such as blankets,
or their own tails if they were not weaned.  But this girl was fully
weaned from her mother before I picked her out at the Humane Society.
Kitty Wants Out Desperately!14 Feb 2004 00:49 GMT10
Okay, I am pretty sure that I'm not the only one experiencing this at this
time of year and was hoping more of the great advice of the ng.
My youngest cat, Tucker, age one, was out side so desperately. He's only
escaped twice before, so he's been an indoor kitty virtually all his ...
Litter Maid?14 Feb 2004 00:38 GMT4
Hey folks,
does anyone here use a LitterMaid litter pan? Are they safe for kitty? It's
Tucker's (and mine) birthday and we thought we'd get him one. I've
researched them and all I can really find is kudos and good revues. I just
Elderly cat problem14 Feb 2004 00:29 GMT17
Is there anything that can be done for a elderly cat (15+) who is

he3 seems to have trouble passing them.  He will even drag his hindquarters
in attempt[ting to fully pass the stool.  Any ideas?   Money is ...
Litter Box Blues13 Feb 2004 22:55 GMT3
We have three litter boxes. They all seem to want to use the same one. So
one day the bathroom box is the box du jour a few days later it could be the
kitchen box or the laundry room box. So scooping is done and done and done
to keep the box clean while they ignore two perfectly ...
Returning a "lost" cat? Need help...13 Feb 2004 22:34 GMT51
My girlfriend had been asking me for a cat for sometime. After several
weeks I finally went out to get one. I waited for hours till I saw a
stray scratching on someone's door. I brought it home and my
girlfriend loved it. Long story short - she is spending way too much
Can Cats get too much Catnip?13 Feb 2004 22:08 GMT2
<G> I have lots of questions today, hope everyone doesn't mind!
I bought the kitties fresh catnip yesterday and I laid the bags of stuff on
the counter top. We have one cat who craves catnip, and the other one just
loves it <G>
Depo Medrol vs Prednisone13 Feb 2004 16:57 GMT49
I need to make a choice about whether to continue Cheeks (4-year-old
shelter rescue, female, spayed, and with beautiful intact little
feets! ) on Depo shots or do prednisone pills for her asthma and
linear granuloma (rodent ulcer) problem.
CRF-cat, potassium: Vets, please help us13 Feb 2004 15:14 GMT1
The difficulties to judge the "real" potassium level from serum
analysis have been discussed at various occasions. Now we seem to be
hit ourselves.

My wife and I inherited a four year old cat from our son (he was
jumping into the baby's crib.) He is OK except for one thing...
He urinates in the litter box but defecates on the floor right in
front of it. It doesn't matter what the condition of the litter or
cat peeing question....13 Feb 2004 03:36 GMT1
I have a friend with an 11 year old female Calico cat. A few years
ago, after another cat entered the household, she bagan to
occasionally pee and defecate out side of the liter box (on the bed,
couch, etc). Since then, there was a time when she was again the only
