Dandruff?18 Jan 2004 21:32 GMT26
I have an all black cat with a very sleek coat. I brush him regularly, and
when I do, he seems to have dandruff all over his back. Does anyone else
have this problem? Is it dandruff?

kitten spayed. Just noticed.18 Jan 2004 02:13 GMT9
my kitten has just been spayed and I have just noticed that unlike any
of my previous cats that i have had done, she hasn't got her paw
shaved. Why? Could she have been given gas instead? watching her at
the moment she looks like she has been out on the beer all night. I

Curiosity didn't kill the abandoned cat found by two teenage boys near a
dumpster -- instead, their quick thinking saved the feline's life.

This one is probably the best photo of them all, also a good desktop
Barfing on the Carpet17 Jan 2004 19:38 GMT9
I just don't get it.  Why do cats run from the linoleum to the carpet
when they want to throw up?
I should have known she was working on it, though.  She hadn't eaten
dinner.  She didn't have anything TO throw up, thank goodness, so it
How to tell Breed?17 Jan 2004 18:55 GMT13
We have two kittens that we adopted at a shelter a month and a half ago.
They told us they were both brown tabby cats.
This afternoon, I took a peek on Orchid's site and the pictures of the
Bengal cats look almost identical to the younger kitten, Stella. Is there a
Raw chicken?17 Jan 2004 18:51 GMT5
I have it on fairly good authority that I can feed my bengals raw ground
beef, and have done so to their delight with no ill effects - in fact,
I've heard it's encouraged in particular with bengals.  (Orchid? A bit of
insight?)
Cat Playing with it's back foot17 Jan 2004 18:23 GMT13
We have a semi-longhair Maine Coon, which we found as a stray (about 3
years old now).  He was very friendly when we found him but had a bad
coat, so we assume it ran away or was abandoned (why anyone would abandon
such a beautiful cat is beyond us..  Maybe he begged too much at ...
Cat Milk?17 Jan 2004 16:39 GMT1
I periodically give my cat this lactose free cat milk I buy from Kroger. He
absolutely loves it. Is this milk good for him or is it kitty junk food. Just
wondering.

junk food cat and struvites17 Jan 2004 15:33 GMT1
My girlfriend's male Persian insists on eating a junk food diet (kitty treats)
which has resulted in struvites and bloody urine.  She took the animal to a vet
(2nd time) and he prescribed a low-PH diet.
However this Persian is extremely persnickedy in his diet and won't even eat
turning down the heat?17 Jan 2004 15:30 GMT21
Just curious....how low do people turn the heat down during the day (when they
are at work, etc), for the cats? We leave ours at about 60, but I'm wondering
if it's more than they need.

Water loving cats (was: Anyone else's cat do this)17 Jan 2004 14:52 GMT8
There was mention about cats and bathtubs in the other email chain. Thought I'd
relay the oddities of our kittens Chloe (female) and Pepper (male).
Both just love to drink from a tap, any tap (bathroom, kitchen, laundry, etc.).
Thank goodness we have double sinks. Pepper's favorites ...
Feline troubles...any thoughts?17 Jan 2004 14:28 GMT28
Hopefully someone out there might have some advice for me.  I've got
two cats on an apparent hunger strike, and I really don't know what
could be wrong or what else to do.
I have one five year old cat who about a month ago had a stone removed
