Help for cat in cage...20 Jan 2004 02:09 GMT18
I wrote earlier about stray FElV+ Big Boy for whom I'm looking for a home.
In the meantime, he is confined to my bathroom or a big dog kennel I
borrowed.  Problem is that he is now meowing almost constantly--I know he
wants to get out but I can't let him because of my own cats.. ...
Cat with yucky coat20 Jan 2004 00:57 GMT1
I'm sitting here brushing my cat Loki, male, 3 1/2 yr old brown tabby, and I
notice on the brush not only is there dandruff, but also little
browish/black specs, almost like flea dirt.  I checked him thoroughly for
fleas, and also brushed the other cats (with a different brush) to ...

Strange behavior that I have never seen19 Jan 2004 21:14 GMT22
I am new to posting here, having just discovered this group.  I've had
kitties since I moved away from home in 1993 (after college).  My male cat,
Murray, 10, died last Mother's Day of heart failure.  Apparently he had a
congenital defect that no other vet ever caught.  Poor baby.  ...
How to control aggressive play?19 Jan 2004 18:19 GMT11
Fred is 9 months old, I believe, and neutered. I got him for Christmas. He
seems to be a Manx, pure-bred or close to it. Very pretty. He was a stray
and had been seen by a vet. Has had some of his shots; I'll follow up with
a visit on 1/14 to a vet near me.
Cat making a Chewing Like Movement all the time19 Jan 2004 16:39 GMT12
After spending almost a grand, there seems to be not one Vet in Canada that
would diagnose this problem with our cat.
He moves his head from left to right frequently with a chewing motion. I
know it is hard to explain but I'll try ...
Cats That Don't Like Catnip19 Jan 2004 14:15 GMT22
Are there any other cats out there that don't like catnip? My cat Isis seems
to really not care for it. Jade is ok with it but not addicted.

Cat - deeping moaning cry19 Jan 2004 12:52 GMT10
Our cat is 17 years old and is in reasonable health for his age.
However, about a six months ago he started to emit this very deep
moaning cry, almost a growl.
He usually starts this when he comes through the cat flap back into
Cat with arthritis19 Jan 2004 09:34 GMT11
I've never posted to this group, but I need some input...
One of my cats has arthritis and the vet gave me some drops to administer
called metacam.  He told me the drug is really for dogs, but they have had
great results with cats.  I did a little research on this drug and it sounds
My mom's apartment is really bad for the cat...need some help.19 Jan 2004 04:46 GMT121
So my mom is partially disabled and has had my cat for the past 8
years for company.  I still clip the cat and brush her every week or
so, and she is healty for being 14 years old, but the problem I think
is the smoke.
Lumps in coat on back19 Jan 2004 04:31 GMT9
My Ginger , about 7 yrs old, develops each year a crop of big matted lumps
in his coat (on his back). Whats the cause and what can I do? He'd really

Caring for an older cat questions.......19 Jan 2004 03:53 GMT24
As my indoor cat Willi approaches his 10th birthday in April am wondering if
there are something I need to think about regarding his health. I generally
take him in once a year for his vet visit and shots. Am debating if I should
now move this to every 6 months. Any thoughts? I have ...
Feral Cats & Roof Rats19 Jan 2004 00:34 GMT14
Has anyone got information or stories about how a feral cat colony can be
used to help wipe out or at least keep in check Roof Rats? Here in the
Phoenix area (at least East Phoenix, parts of Scottsdale, and now Tempe)
Roof Rats have become a problem. Despite laying down traps, ...
