odd smell from cat's ears26 Jan 2004 03:04 GMT7
I've always noticed that my cat's ears smell a little strange.  It's not
necessarily a bad strange, but they sort of smell like cookie dough to me.
Is this unusual or do most cats have cookie dough or odd-smelling ears?  The
rest of her face and body smell pretty normal, as far as ...

Cat dilemma..26 Jan 2004 01:05 GMT16
Ok, need some opinions here!
About a year ago, my parents moved to another state, and they took my
cat with them.
Unfortuately, my parents have separated, and they had to give the cat
Cat bully25 Jan 2004 21:36 GMT4
A large black cat has been coming into my yard and beating up my white
fixed male, Scamp.  Scamp tries to chase it away and sometimes it just
jumps him. This last time I had to take Scamp to the vet for his
injuries. Any solution besides chasing the black cat away? Scamp BEGS to
another cat spraying scenerio25 Jan 2004 18:36 GMT3
We had two cats, a male and a female for a few years and never had a
problem with them using the litter box. Occasionally the male will
deficate on a rug near the box if it isn't absolutly perfectly clean.
(This only has happened a few times) Both animals are neutered/spayed.
Vaccinations25 Jan 2004 14:44 GMT1
For my indoor cats,  my vet recommends the 3 year rabies, and distemper every 3
years also.  Seems to make sense.
Curious about Flea Bites25 Jan 2004 04:06 GMT5
When I was a kid we had a dog. This was a very long time ago, long
before flea medications. The dog had a flea collar, but still had
fleas, and there were fleas in the house.
I recall my mother and my brother constantly complaining about flea
Drinking from the toilet25 Jan 2004 04:03 GMT6
Our cats always have a bowl fresh water available, but Fluffy, who has
recently adopted us, prefers to drink from the toilet bowl. We could
discourage her by closing the cover, but we keep the toilet clean and
don't use any chemicals in the water so we let her do it.
Can a cat get the flu?25 Jan 2004 04:01 GMT7
My newer cat is a former feral. She's a sweetie, but after 5 months
here, there's still no picking her up. She's not into being restrained
(and I have the gouges to prove it). Anyhow, in the last few days,
both cats have had tummy issues - the original cat was sad and
New humidifier25 Jan 2004 03:52 GMT1
Yesterday I purchased a large humidifier for the house.  There are two
tanks that empty into a tray at the bottom.  The gurgling sound that it
makes when the tank lets water into the tray sounds exactly like one of
my cats coughing up a hairball.  It will take me a while to get used ...

When a cat goes in for it's first set of full vaccinations, what
vaccinations are given?
older cat25 Jan 2004 00:59 GMT4
My small gray cat is nearing 10 years but still leaps from the terrace
railing, 12 feet up, to the roof, about 20 feet off the ground. It scares
the daylights out of me every time. It seems she almost doesn't make it but
her claws catch and sometimes slip a bit before she pulls ...
Spraying--Desperate Need of Help!24 Jan 2004 22:42 GMT2
Help!
My 1yr old female is spraying all around my new house.  She is in heat, but
the vet says that it's not related to her spraying.  She will be spayed in 2
weeks.  I read the posting about Odokill and Odokleen and will be getting
unearthly vocalizations24 Jan 2004 21:00 GMT25
Carey is a cat I've written about before.  She's currently 10.5, has a
suspected brain tumor and has some OCD behaviors.  She currently takes
prednisone daily and Valium every other day.
Since kittenhood, she's been a very vocal cat.  It used to be cute when she
