Worming pill only administered by vet?28 Jan 2004 15:12 GMT25
Our vet, after already diagnosing the issue during an office visit,
has told us that it is "policy" that worming pills only be given by
their staff in-house ($20 per pill per cat).
We have two cats, both of which are, to say the least, not happy about
Avoid tomato sauce for kitty !28 Jan 2004 09:52 GMT4
Many cat owners give occasional people food to cats as either a regular meal
or occasional treat.
Beware of giving a cat canned fish in tomato sauce or chicken cacciatore!
Tomato contains a toxic alkaloid named solanine that humans can tolerate in

Cold Case?  The somewhat tough-as-nails detective turn out to be a
softie for cats.  Not just any cats, but special needs cats.  One had
only one eye and one had only three legs.  She seemed to love them at

Cat lost it's mom - behavior problems27 Jan 2004 16:11 GMT3
I moved in with my mother last September to be her caregiver.  My two
cats, Stella and Rufus, came with me.  Rufus gets along with
everybody, but Stella and my mother's cat, Sweetie don't get along at
all.  Sweetie has always been affectionate with me, but she was

When I received the bill, there was no charge for euthenasia on there.
I thought he was just being nice since our vet bill was so high
already.
I was obviously not there when he supposedly put her down. I was
FelV Question27 Jan 2004 10:50 GMT42
I am currently looking for home for FelV+ stray, Big Boy, (about which I
posted before).  I have other cats who cannot be exposed to him so he is
isolated.  I get very conflicting info about one thing:  I would be able to
let him loose in my bedroom (instead of the attached bath & ...
soiling outside the litter box27 Jan 2004 07:02 GMT4
I have a 2 YO fixed female calico that I got from the humane society a
couple of months ago. She has a strange habit of defecating just outside the
litter box on a mat that I put down to minimize the scattered litter. She
initially used the box for about a week and then started the ...

My wife and I have two cats, a black one who is two years and a white/grey
that is over a year.  The black cat mainly eats moist food, but will eat
hard food as a last resort.  The white/grey cat mainly eats hard food, but
will eat a little bit of the moist food.
How do you pick out a cat27 Jan 2004 01:05 GMT34
My two cats died this year and I am still pretty sad about that. Someone
suggested that in looking for a cat I should get a mature one - so I could
have some idea of personality - and that seemed like a good idea. I went over
to the local PetSmart where they have some in cages up ...

My long hair 1.5 year old, Isabelle, is doing something strange. It sounds
like she's going to barf but she is laying down and doesn't have her mouth
open at all. Her belly heaves but like I said she just lays there and
doesn't get up and assume the normal I'm-gonna-puke position. ...
