Stray has Leukemia17 Dec 2003 05:49 GMT1
I adopted a stray and he stayed with my family and two house cats for about
three weeks. Today I brought the stray in to the vet for an examination and
he was diagnosed with Feline Leukemia. We were advised to euthinise which we
did.  :-(
tail twitching16 Dec 2003 14:07 GMT3
My two-year old inside/outside cat has gradually developed a twitch in
his tail.
While his tail is held up, he will twitch it by rotating it along its
axis.  Possibly with a slight side-to-side twitch of his hindquarters.
How much can I starve my diabetic cat ?16 Dec 2003 06:19 GMT1
My diabetic cat weighs about 19 lbs when his ideal weight
is about 16 lbs or less.
According to the instruction on the Purina DM bag, a cat
weighing between 17 and 20 lbs should get 108-144 g of
Runt w/ Defective Intestines16 Dec 2003 00:54 GMT9
My daughter _had_ to have the "little" kitten.  You know, the one half the
size of all the others.  The runt.
Well, turns out he has some sort of rather unpleasant intestinal thing going
on.  Left to his own devices, he has constant diarrhea and the poor thing
Is my cat schizophrenic? (Strange behavior)16 Dec 2003 00:48 GMT4
I'm new to the cat game and to this newsgroup so forgive me if what I
ask seems obvious or overasked. My cat is about 1 1/2 years old now
and exhibits strange behaviors. One moment he'll seek out my company
and rub up against me or sleep in my lap and the next moment he's
my cat is drooling and sneezing   what could it be !!??16 Dec 2003 00:40 GMT6
it is scaring me to death !!!
Christmas Trees15 Dec 2003 12:23 GMT4
It may be time to try to tie up the tree.  We have an artificial tree,
about 6 ft. tall, and Jezebel is the first cat I've had in a long time
who wants to climb it!  She's just 2 1/2, and she and Phantom are the
first young cats we've had for many years, so I'm just not used to ...
Garlic as flea repellant? (or, "o/~Smelly cat, smelly cat.... o/~ )15 Dec 2003 00:21 GMT8
Sorry, couldn't resist.
While at the vet last night with a handful (!) of ten week old kittens,
one thing we discussed was the idea of using more natural means of
treating the kids' more common maladies - and amongst these, there was one
My new foster cat15 Dec 2003 00:17 GMT2
I have a terrific new foster cat, just wanted to share her story.
DC is a little black and white girl, estimated to be about 1 year old.  She
was brought into the shelter by a resident of an apartment complex.  DC was
a stray, and this woman took up a collection for her vetting, and ...
Tiggy's Vet Appt.14 Dec 2003 23:34 GMT12
Just got back from the vet. Preliminarily her problem looks to be from her
arthritis which has spread since last spring. The vet took blood for a full
body scan and I'll have the results on that monday or tuesday. They also did
an x-ray and all the organs appear normal and healthy. ...
Re:Best Friend14 Dec 2003 19:20 GMT2
Thankyou so much to all those people who responded to my post "Best
Friend"on the 13/12, your well wishes and kind words were of real comfort on
what was undoubtedly the worst day of my life. It's funny, Squirm didn't
talk my language, laugh at my jokes or share hardly any of my ...

Best friend14 Dec 2003 16:06 GMT9
I've just lost my beloved cat Squirm after 7 years. She truly was my best
friend and her sudden loss feels more than I can bear. I keep expecting her
to turn up at the front door or see her sleeping on the couch. The thought
of never seeing her again is so devastating that I can't ...
