Cat in a christmas tree21 Dec 2003 22:40 GMT2
Anyone know of a good way to stop a cat climbing a christmas tree? A cat
we had didn't like the NZ sheepskin rug we had,
http://www.ecowool.com/category/10/ but the cat we have now still walks
on it to get up the tree. Any ideas? cheers.
Scraping floor next to water bowl.21 Dec 2003 22:25 GMT13
One of our two 9-month old kitties will quite often scrape the floor next
to the water bowl. This is almost a digging action, scraping away from the
bowl. My best guess is that this is some kind of instinctual action, like
digging for buried water, but I haven't heard of this kind ...
Strange Kneading Behavior21 Dec 2003 21:57 GMT6
My 10 month old Snowshoe Siamese, Mickey, has a very strange kneading
behaviour.  I understand what kneading is, but his variation is something I
have never seen in any of my former cats.  BTW, he lives in my aprtment with
his sister, Daisy.  Also, he was neutered shortly after he ...
silly kitty....21 Dec 2003 21:19 GMT9
Yes, silly.  Though, the behavior on one is a bit worrisome.
Two of our girls, right?  First subject - about a year old.  She's
monogamous.  That is to say, she will only allow one male cat to attempt
to mate with her.

Psycho Kitty - When Will He Slow Down?21 Dec 2003 20:30 GMT5
I have a 4 month old, male Siamese kitten.  He is hyper-active -
always running and knocking over stuff - trys to jump up walls and
scratches the paint.  Also, he chews everything and has already
dammaged an upholstered chair and a throw pillow.
Dry food and drinking at the same time21 Dec 2003 19:29 GMT19
If a cat who will only eat dry food (good quality food) also drinks at the
same time, ie eats some then drinks, then eats more, then drinks... isn't
that close to the same as eating wet food, as far as their body knows?
I've observed this with Bonnie and she even dribbles dry ...
Recent Injury21 Dec 2003 19:23 GMT6
Our male indoor/outdoor, neutered cat came in yesterday evening with a
raw spot near his right armpit. He licks it quite a bit. No blood,
some plasma, looks like there are puncture marks from a plant, cactus?
(we're in Tucson AZ) These don't look like bite marks. It seems he is
cat's urine sample21 Dec 2003 09:45 GMT16
Xena is still on antibiotics and prescription diet. For another two weeks,
after her second urine sample showed less crystals, but still crystals in
there.
I have learned a few things but getting a urine sample.
Bitins and ambushins21 Dec 2003 03:36 GMT2
My kitty is about eighteen months old.  She's Siamese / Himalayan, came from
the shelter at about four months' of age.
She bites.  Not just little nips, but puncture wounds sometimes.  I don't
tease her, restrain her or pet her to distraction.  She'll come to me, roll
a very cat-like Christmas20 Dec 2003 20:00 GMT5
I don't know if this link will work here, but my niece (who is 3) sent me a
Christmas card that I know other cat owners would appreciate :-).

Kismet Twitching While Sleeping20 Dec 2003 19:54 GMT4

about?  it's sort of cute, and i heard that cats can twitch while in REM

Petromalt/Vaseline20 Dec 2003 18:41 GMT7
Many people in this group have said that Vaseline can be used instead of
Petromalt for hairball control.  I have two questions: Is it really safe to
feel regular Vaseline  petroleum jelly to cats?  Will they really eat it?
(I know that will vary from cat to cat, but do most cats ...
