Cat Drinking Toilet Water30 Dec 2003 04:27 GMT4
Several times I've come into the bathroom to find my cat drinking water from
the toilet.  Isn't that unhealthy?
Thanks in advance for any replies,

Shamrock's poor skin condition30 Dec 2003 02:35 GMT15
Just doing a little homework ahead of time and I had posted in amv about
antihistamine use in cats.  I am so hesitant to keep getting him steroid
shots since there is FeLV in the house and steroids lower the immune
system.  Not sure if antihistamines do, but the vet said they ...
cat scratching off fur again30 Dec 2003 00:34 GMT1
My siamese is once again scratching off the fur around his neck (no
fleas.)  He did it this past summer, but eventually we and the vet
determined that it was an allergy to a different food we had tried, and he
and his fur eventually recovered.

Any help appreciated.
We have a 12 year old calico cat which recently was diagnosed with a bit of
arthritis in the rear legs but otherwise in good health.
About a week ago, 'it' stopped letting people touch her front paws - really

Strange story/how do I trap a stray cat? (slightly long)29 Dec 2003 04:27 GMT10
About a month ago, one of my closest friends died suddenly of a
massive heart attack at the age of 53. He was like a brother to me. It
was a great shock and since then, I have been struggling to cope with
the loss.
How to make provisions in my will for care of my cats?29 Dec 2003 01:58 GMT13
I plan to update my will sometime within the next few weeks, and I would
like to provide protection for my cats. A friend has agreed to care for my
cats if anything were to happen to me - in fact, she asked to be named as
their guardian. That is a great comfort to me because she is ...
Thinking of Getting a Fourth Cat28 Dec 2003 14:18 GMT3
Well, my roomie and I are officially Crazy Cat People and already have
three cats, and are considering a fourth.  I was wondering what advice
those of you who have this many cats would give to us?
Our oldest cat is Spam, who we have had 11 years.  He's got some
Cat Brush28 Dec 2003 09:29 GMT5
We recently had a longhair cat adopt us and I would like to brush her,
but the brush I use for other other guys, a short hair and medium hair,
doesn't do a very good job on her. It just slides along the surface of
her fur without really brushing her.
Help!  Kitten having accidents27 Dec 2003 23:34 GMT3
Three months ago, I took in a stray male kitten.  Q stays indoors all
the time and has never had any trouble using the litterbox.  He is now
six months old. Q has urinated twice on the floor this week.  He is
squatting, and I have read that male cats do not squat to spray.  I am
Feline lymphoma question27 Dec 2003 19:41 GMT2
Our 7-year-old cat has stage-1 lymphoma involving
only the gland on the left side of the neck.  He has
started treatment with Vincristine/Cytoxan/Prednisone
and has responded well so far (gland reduced 90%).
Cats that heal27 Dec 2003 19:18 GMT7
I have heard several stories and seen first hand  - cats that know when you
are hurting or sick or sad and act in ways to 'heal' you.
Last week I had my gall bladder out and a few days later, I came home and my
3 month old kitten, Stella got in my lap and immediately went to each of ...
I don't have the energy to keep my kitten active27 Dec 2003 17:53 GMT16
He wipes me out, I know he needs more exercise, but he gets bored with
his toys fast.    Any suggestions?    Thanks
White discharge?27 Dec 2003 15:36 GMT14
I have a 5 year old cat .. two days ago, I noticed a small drop of a white
substance discharging from my cat's rear end.
Today, I found a glop of the stuff on the floor.  It's pure white, almost
like .. Elmers white glue ..
There actually is a word for it27 Dec 2003 05:25 GMT3
Since some in this group have mentioned this particular condition
(especially with long haired cats), I thought I would share with you my
discovery that there is a Pennsylvania German word for it --
"aarschgnoddle."  According to Bill Bryson, in his book "Made in America,"
