Measuring urine ph in cat litter?04 Dec 2003 16:29 GMT1
I am considering monitoring my cats urine ph to prevent later health
problems.   I understand I can use a pool ph meter or, I imagine, one
used for gardening purposes.   My question is... Can I measure the ph
of the urine in the cat litter (I use clay litter)?    If the litter
13 yr old male cat had a stroke--is there any hope?04 Dec 2003 05:49 GMT12
My 13 yr old male cat Socrates had what the vet said looked like a
stroke this morning. He looked terrible, could barely pick up his
head, drooling, panting and bellows like he's in pain. He seemed to be
ok the last few days and appears to be in otherwise good health (being
Mini-update: Benny's eye04 Dec 2003 02:59 GMT1
This is a small update on Benny, the cat with the cloudy eye. He's
been getting the eye drops for around 10 days now, and the
discoloration that was previously there has lessened. His eye nearly
looks normal, even though he can't see out of it.
Cat went in litter box, but didn't cover it up04 Dec 2003 01:11 GMT28
The cat finally peed in the litter box for the first time, but didn't
bury it.  Is that strange?  It's just sitting on top in a puddle.
Kind of hard for the litter to clump that way.  :-)
Any advice on cleaning my cat?04 Dec 2003 00:36 GMT17
I have an 8 yr old female tabby who goes berserk whenever we try and
wash her off. We usually get cuts all over our hands and it takes like
an hour or so to complete because of her refusal to be washed. We also
have the inherent problem of her licking herself when we're soaping
New Adoptee--baggy skin in cats03 Dec 2003 22:01 GMT29
Bless my sweet neighbor who just brought home an adult cat from the
pound that was up for euthanization!
I just came back from seeing her. She is a large-boned Siamese mix,
cream and dark brown, with the usual markings of a chocolate point or
How to keep cats out of tree03 Dec 2003 05:59 GMT4
Attach the top of the tree to the ceiling.  Actually it doesn't keep them
out of the tree but the tree doesn't fall over.

Auto Trader03 Dec 2003 03:26 GMT2
Hi Mom,
Thanks for the idea regarding Auto Trader.
I might actually get money doing it this way. If I sell the car at $2200
(this is less the engine) or more, maybe I can get someone willing to buy it
??'s about FIV+ stray cat03 Dec 2003 01:41 GMT11
I am facing a real dilemma with a stray cat that hangs out near my
apartment complex. He's part of a local trap-neuter-return program. I
had decided to adopt him because some of the people who live here hate
cats and have made threats to harm them. He likes people so I figured

Night-time behaviour - Help02 Dec 2003 21:23 GMT19
I have recently adopted a DSH cat called Lily from the local Cat's
Protection League.  She is between 18 months and 2 years old and she really
is a lovely cat but some of her behaviour is starting to drive me mad and I
would appreciate some advice as to how I can train it out of ...
my cat thinks it is a dog02 Dec 2003 09:14 GMT4
My cat thinks it is a dog.  I have 2 labradors and my cat follows them
everywhere, even when we go out for walks it comes 2.  It wont eat cat
food and will only eat dog food along with the other 2 dogs.  I am a
little worried as to whether or not this is good for my cats diet
Profound differences of behaviour02 Dec 2003 09:09 GMT22
I have a calico cat and a black domestic short haired.
They both have DRAMATICALLY different types of behaviour.  Do black cats and
calico cats have dramatically different kinds of behaviours than other
breeds and types of cats.
