Snuffleupagus06 Dec 2003 17:49 GMT16
I adopted 5 1/2 yo Frank (with his partner in crime, Tim) about five
months ago. Frank snores, but he also breathes noisily through his nose
much of the time - he doesn't really purr, he snuffles. He's seen a
couple of vets and has a clean bill of health, but I haven't asked
Claw question06 Dec 2003 12:23 GMT3
Two nail clippings ago I noticed that Tiggy's claws on a few "fingers" have
gotten really thick. I didn't think too much of it the first time I clipped
them. I thought maybe she was getting ready to shed the outer nail like they
do periodically. When I clipped them the next time and ...
Cardiomyopathy06 Dec 2003 04:27 GMT26
Anybody have any cats with cardiomyopathy and how does one cope?  Management
of the disease, etc.
I got a call the other day from Peepers Vet.  Gabrielle Herman (the usual
vet) had gone over the examination at his annual examination this year and
Aluminum foil for furniture scratching.06 Dec 2003 02:05 GMT8
Ok...I sprayed the furniture with "No Scratch,"  I've sprayed the
scratching post with catnip spray, I've put the double-sided sticky
tape on the chair.
She isn't repelled by the spray, and she actually goes AROUND the
Help for Skittish Cat06 Dec 2003 01:23 GMT4
Hello all, after reading your newsgroup for a while I think it is time to
ask my question. I have three female cats, one 13-year-old with some health
problems, and two year-and-a-half littermates. Urza is bigger and a bit
stronger than her sister Mishra, but for some reason Urza has ...
Maine-Coon wanderer05 Dec 2003 17:11 GMT11
Is there any way to refrain our cat from wandering too far.. I'm
thinking theres probably little you can do to control how far your cat
wanders - but it is a worry when he is gone for the biggest part of
the day, and always relief to see him show up later on.
REPLIES TO: Re: Is this unusual?-What is the reason for this behavior?05 Dec 2003 00:30 GMT2
QUESTION------------Does she have a long coat?  Would it be possible that it
was poop clinging
on to her fur and that she cleaned off while in her bed?
REPLY------------She has long coat - but poop didn't cling to her . Came out
Crossed eyes05 Dec 2003 00:17 GMT6
I'm still thinking about my neighbor's new adoptee that she rescued
from death row.
Her eyes are crossed. Does this mean she sees the way I do if I cross
my eyes? Anyone else with cross-eyed cats? My neighbor is willing to
Is this unusual?-What is the reason for this behavior?04 Dec 2003 23:32 GMT7
My indoor-outdoor cat sleeps in her well protected and insulated cat bed/tunnel
just outside the main house on my patio.
It rained very heavily the other day and the next day I did the usual, always
clean out her bed & blanket to air it. But to my disgust, she left her poop
Christmas tree kitty fun04 Dec 2003 23:26 GMT6
I set up my Christmas tree yesterday, and Jack and Rizzo have discovered
it's this season's best entertainment.
The tree is an eight foot, pre-lit artificial one (real trees barely last
through Christmas in Florida, and besides, I find the idea wasteful).  As I
Peace lilly question.04 Dec 2003 23:16 GMT2
So I was reading and it seems these are not good plants for the "kids" to be
munching on.  Personally we don't care for them to munch on ANY plants, but
that's beside the point.  However, point in question, we were just given a
Peace Lilly and before we could put it in it's own room ...
Angry cat04 Dec 2003 21:27 GMT10
Hi, I have a male, neutered tabby; almost 3 years old. Over the past few
months he has started exhibiting rather disturbing behaviour. A month or so
ago he got angry when I apparently didn't do what he wanted and he swatted
me in the face giving me a cut above my eye. Since then ...
spayed cat flirting behaviour04 Dec 2003 20:11 GMT12
we have a 1 1/2 year old maine coon female who flirts with my husband!
it's very sweet but i've never known a cat to do this. she'll come
stand right in front of him, arch her back and shake her tail while
chiriping and meowing and then she flops over on the ground and rolls
How to keep a Water Bowl from freezing?04 Dec 2003 19:23 GMT18
Howdy,
We have our stray cats that we take care of and are looking for a way to keep their water bowl from
freezing.  I have built them a house to live in which they like, but it just dropped to the 20s in
the past day or so and their water bowl freezes.
can clavimox kill a cat?04 Dec 2003 17:23 GMT16
On Friday evening we brought her to the vet because of a urinary
problem, they kept her overnight, and then released her the next day
with clavamox (an antibiotic) to give twice a day. Saturday seemed to
go OK, she wasn't exactly energetic, but no one was really expecting
