Thyroid vs. urine concentration12 Nov 2003 13:12 GMT3
First check up in years, and the 16 year old cat allegedly has a
hyperactive thyroid.  I know this can cause weight loss but can it also
lead to these other symptoms:
1)  Impacted anal glands.
kidney failure and force feeding12 Nov 2003 02:39 GMT10
Well, I've read many archive posts (about 200 there are about
force-feeding) and I came up with something different on my own that
seeeems to be working.
Vet had said I should either get her to eat special wet food, or mix up

Bonnie's first "real" vet visit11 Nov 2003 23:11 GMT29
Up until now, every time Bonnie had to go to the vet it was the county
clinic (shots, spay, etc). I've been dreading having to take her to a
real vet visit but the day finally came.  She was having problems
urinating and this morning she cried while in the box so I called the

question about my cat11 Nov 2003 13:37 GMT1
I have a long haired calico. She has the problem of pieces of fecal matter
clinging to her hair around her butt when she goes to the litter box. I
usually get a wet washcloth and clean the area at least every other day if
not every day.  Lately I have been very busy with work and ...
feed Nutro?11 Nov 2003 11:52 GMT2
I want to raise this to everyone's attention here. Steve Crane pointed
this out in a post buried in another thread here, however this warrants
a thread of its own to bring the information "up front" so to speak.

I need to know some things11 Nov 2003 07:37 GMT4
I need some questions answered. I tried a google search but I had
trouble finding the answers.
1. About how old is a female cat when she has her first litter of
kittens?
Incorrigible Peeing Problem - ideas?11 Nov 2003 07:29 GMT11
Hello -
The problem is one of our four indoors cats.
This cat, Sheba, is a female stray that I adopted and raised as a very
small (<6 weeks) kitten to adulthood. Sheba is now just under 5 years
Is that flushable cat litter any good?11 Nov 2003 05:17 GMT6
I've been thinking about buying that new Easy Flush clumping cat litter, but
wanted to get people's opinions on it.  Has anyone tried it?
Steroids for cats?11 Nov 2003 05:00 GMT8
I took my cat to the vet today - excessive licking herself and
two dime-sized red spots/sores on her back. The vet gave her a
steroid shot (receipt says Depo-Medrol injectable) and said the
problems should clear up in a few days.
I Just Pulled Something Out Of My Cat's Butt11 Nov 2003 03:50 GMT15
At first I thought it was a sesame seed and tossed it into the sink.
Then I thought, "I better take a look at that" and picked it up.  It
started energetically crawling around on my finger.

Feline Parvo11 Nov 2003 01:43 GMT5
There is a large outbreak of feline parvo in Polk county in central
Florida. According to news reports it's incredibly contagious, hard to
kill, completely fatal virus. They are euthanizing over 70 cats and
kittens at the shelter to try to stem the outbreak and then they will
Cat Collars10 Nov 2003 22:51 GMT6
I have recently bought one of those electromagnetically operated cat flaps
as my house seemed to be turning into the local drop in centre for all the
cats in the neighbourhood.
My cat has always worn a collar, the type she has at the moment is one of
Feeding questions10 Nov 2003 22:30 GMT70
We have a 16 year old spayed female tabby, Tigger, who has a tendency to be
overweight. We got her down to 9 lbs. but this is still a little heavy for
her frame. It is imperative to keep her weight down as she has arthritis.
We also have a 1-2 yr. old long hair spayed female, Isabel ...
