4 Year Old Cat is Lethargic and has lost his Appetite28 Nov 2003 01:19 GMT2
Our 4 year old cat has slowed down considerably within the last 3 or 4
days.  He's always been incredibly playful and wants to be near us at
night, but a few days ago, he threw up a couple of times overnight
(this wasn't odd behavior for him - he has a pretty sensitive

Does anyone have any suggestions for treats for cats? I've tried lots of
catnip flavored treats and my cats just ignore them. The only thing they get
excited about are  Friskies Dental diet dry food (those yellow balls), but
I'd like to have some variety.
wellness food & lots of visits to the litter box?27 Nov 2003 19:28 GMT4
my two-year old boy has been dining on nutro natural choice dry food
since he was a kitten, because he seems to have allergies to most
other foods (he couldn't take science diet or iams, and even has
problems with pounce treats--vomiting or stool issues). he was really

About 15 minutes ago, I stepped away from the Monday Night Football game
(which the Bucs seem determined to give away) for a few moments, and when I
returned there was a small but grotesque puddle in the hall off my living
room.  Promiently featured in it was a much-abused segement ...
Sick kitty27 Nov 2003 03:48 GMT10
Hi, I'm trying to figure out if one of my cats is sick, seriously sick, or
just being the very definition of moody lately.
first of all, I have 2 cats.  1 female short hair who has always been kind
of tiny, not usually more than 7lbs, probably sitting around 5 right now
Neutering the older female cat27 Nov 2003 01:40 GMT7
I am torn about the decision to neuter my 7-year old cat. I think that
it might be beneficial for her in the long run, but I am really scared
about possible complications and not sure if I have the moral right to
do it to her.
Removing urine stain from carpet27 Nov 2003 00:32 GMT2
Any advice that's safe for the carpet? I am trying Nature's Miracle, but
not seeing much result.

Kidney Disease and Aspirin26 Nov 2003 19:38 GMT1
My 14 1/2 yr old cat was recently diagnosed with early Kidney Disease.
In the past, when given his yearly vaccines, he's always been given a
portion (I don't know how much) of an aspirin because he reacts very
badly otherwise - growling, hissing, etc. for 24-48 hours afterward
Pills and cats26 Nov 2003 14:00 GMT9
Such a tiny little pill to cause so much trouble! Cajun, is feeling better, and
now that he is, he remembers that he really doesn't care for me. Dean was
holding him, I was scruffing him and pilling him. Until yesterday morning when
Cajun managed to claw Dean pretty badly. (Still ...
furr eating behaviour26 Nov 2003 12:49 GMT2
Hi, one of my cats has been grabbing clumps of furr (ie after a brushing
session) and eating them. Any idea why she's doing this? (I have to
literally drag her away and yank the furr out of her mouth)
Thanks.
Feline Health Care 1800s style26 Nov 2003 09:07 GMT6
For anyone interested in feline health care a century or so ago or
veterinary history, I've transcribed the sections on breeding and on
health/veterinary care from the Frances Simpson's 1903 "Book of the Cat".

replied to my post last time...I was uplifted by your thoughts.

Isabelle is picking on Tiggy26 Nov 2003 00:19 GMT10
I'll try to be brief but maybe a little background would be helpful. All
cats mentioned are inside cats and none are declawed.
Tiggy is 16 (8 lbs.- good weight for her. spayed). She has always had a male
companion that she got along with. As of last August we had 2 cats Tiggy and
Kitten with ?contractures?25 Nov 2003 23:59 GMT2
I just received a rescued kitten - Siamese mix female, 10.2 ounces, in not too
bad shape except for a worm-belly - who has weird back legs. One is worse than
the other, but neither one can be fully extended, stretched out - there seems
to be something binding? She's lying on her ...
kitty licking neck cut...interesting solution25 Nov 2003 22:40 GMT5
he kept re-opening the wound...so I got fed up...cut the top off a sweat sock
and he now has a big collar...which he's unhappy about, of course.
we'll see.
