Drooling cat - why?19 Oct 2003 06:55 GMT7
A 2 year-old semi-feral spayed female cat who lives in my office is suddenly
drooling quite a lot. I'll take her to the vet Friday - can't before that - but
what *could* it be?? I managed to catch her and look in her mouth, and there's
nothing noticeable or unusual there. There is ...
Stomach Problems18 Oct 2003 20:27 GMT3
My little kitten of 9 weeks has a swollen stomach and a slightly sore bum
also has runny poos, when she goes, When i got her from the pet shop she was
riddled with fleas (which I kicked up a stinker) Once all the fleas had
gone, someone told me that fleas carry worms so i wormed her ...
I scared her silly18 Oct 2003 19:55 GMT7
Anyone ever notice any odd behavior in a cat when they first discover
a mirror?  This morning Bonnie was watching me in a full length mirror
in my room while I was getting dressed for work, just staring at me,
though I noticed she was staring at herself, too.  I was behind her
Problems W/Rescue Group: Any suggestions?18 Oct 2003 15:12 GMT2
3 1/2 weeks ago, I contacted a rescue group about adopting a cat  (listed on a
Petfinders site). The founder of the group is well known. She was profiled in
the major newspaper here.  Two of the people assisting her, however, were
incompetent idiots.  I had dealt with them, first, ...

Another diabetic cat!18 Oct 2003 01:37 GMT6
After my noticing increased urination, my 15 year old male
DSH was just diagnosed with diabetes this morning (after
blood and urine tests).
He is still a healthy cat, so I guess he can't have had it
What becomes of Monticore?18 Oct 2003 00:51 GMT9
An amusing and light-hearted, yet completely serious article.
Worth a read.

Spraying - last resort18 Oct 2003 00:07 GMT4
I'm a volunteer for a local rescue organization, and received an email from
a lady who has two neutered males who continue to spray indoors even though
she has used Feliway (the pheromone spray and plug-in) and uses an enzyme
solution to clean up.  The cats are declawed so she does ...
biting electrical cords17 Oct 2003 20:55 GMT11
My cat, Trouble, who is 4 years old is still very much like a kitten...I
guess that is due to my own playfulness with her.
One issue I have and that is that she bites my electrical cords - teething
like - she actually bit through my AC adaptor for my new laptop ;-(

Phil, Helen, Someone....Please Help17 Oct 2003 05:48 GMT15
My Kitty was diagnosed with kidney failure.  Unsure if it's chronic or
acute.  Doesn't really matter as the vet says his numbers are
extremely high and after 72 hours of IV hospitalization they got
worse.  Vet says he's going to die soon and let him live out his last
Do all cats become lactose intolerant?17 Oct 2003 04:14 GMT4
I have two kittens who are now 9 weeks old.   I have been raising them
since they were a week old since they were orphaned by their mother.
I have slowly weaned them so that now they eat solid food readily.
However, I am having a hard time getting them to drink water.   I
Why do people wait until the misery is obvious17 Oct 2003 01:24 GMT2
When a cat is clearly down to her last few weeks of life, is it love
or selfishness that delays the decision to euthanize?
I have decided that it is either selfishness or ignorance.  The only
way we can decide about euthanasia for our pets is purely
Neutered Female cat marking: Due to Orkin Man or other factors?16 Oct 2003 23:07 GMT3
About 7 months ago my wife and I moved into our new house from a 1
bedroom apartment with our 2 cats, a male (10 or so) and a female
(3ish). They had one cat box at the apt, but got along great with each
other. No marking incidents, no hissing, no fighting beyond normal
Advice on sick cat16 Oct 2003 21:08 GMT8
My cat has not been eating for two days and drank a lot of water
today. The cat seems weak and has his eyes half open.
Should I wait to see if he will recover or take him to a vet as soon
as possible?
