I've noticed lately that my 8.5 yr old male cat has lost weight so I decided to have him checked out. Upon weighing him at the vets office, it was discovered that he had lost 3 lbs. since his last exam in late June of this year. He was 11 lbs. in June; he is now 8 lbs. I should

| **THANK YOU ALL *** Re: Cost for tumor removal? | 30 Oct 2003 04:07 GMT | 5 |
For your responses to my post about our cat's tumor. My husband is feeling much better about it today and we are going to call the vet for an estimate as soon as they open. I also decided to check with another vet in our area. I was really

| Making dry food look/smell/taste like wet food | 30 Oct 2003 00:18 GMT | 10 |
I'm posting on behalf of a neighbor who's training her cat to eat canned food instead of dry food. She simply won't touch canned food, I mean the cat not my neighbor. The cat hasn't eaten anything in 3 days -- meows a lot! My neighbor tried mixing dry & canned, but the cat

| litter box odor question | 29 Oct 2003 19:48 GMT | 16 |
I recently took in a homeless cat that someone dumped near my home. He's relatively young, probably less then 2 years Im told. I had him fixed and checked out by a local vet. He's in good health. My problem is, when he uses the litter box, which he does several times a day, it

| Swheatscoop vs WBCL or other Natural litters... | 29 Oct 2003 01:16 GMT | 26 |
I've read the archives, not sure what the concensus is. My cat pees against the side of the box every time and I have to scrape the clump residue from the side (not fun). I would like to know opinions of natural biodegradable clumping litter, with

| Are cats susceptible to WNV? | 28 Oct 2003 19:27 GMT | 9 |
West Nile Virus, that is. I've pretty much ignored all info on WNV because I live in Phoenix, where you don't see many mosquitos and because WNV didn't even hit AZ until this year. Now the other day, I heard on the news that one of the thick-billed parrots

| Cat won't eat | 28 Oct 2003 16:28 GMT | 8 |
My 15 year old female cat Kato won't eat. I'll start to pump food into her with a syringe but it doesn't look good. Vet trips traumatize her to no end so I'm going to do what I can at home until she starts to lose weight. She's been steadily eating a little less

| Human health risks w/ cat pooping in crawl space? | 28 Oct 2003 12:46 GMT | 5 |
My house sits atop 3 foot piers making a crawl space the size of the entire house's floor plan - 1200 sq ft. For a time I allowed him down there (thru a special cat door) so he could have fun playing in the dirt and catching small lizards and gecco's. (He's an indoor cat) He took to ...

| Twitchy Shuna | 28 Oct 2003 04:38 GMT | 3 |
My cat (Shuna, 8 yrs, female moggy) has a strange twitchy head which concerns me. Her head only occassionally does the shakes, but will very often shake when she's otherwise completely relaxed (ie. sitting on me), and she sometimes seems almost in a trance-like state. Her

| My cat pukes a lot | 28 Oct 2003 02:21 GMT | 41 |
My 15 year old cat, Kato, has always vomited frequently. Sometimes there is fur involved but often not. Her general health is very good. She had surgery at age 3 for a bladder stone and has been fine since but the weak stomach has been ongoing for many years.

| My sister's new additions | 27 Oct 2003 22:37 GMT | 7 |
My sister has been wanting to get a cat, but it has been forbidden by her husband. He doesn't hate cats, but just doesn't want a litter box in the house, shedding on the furniture, etc. A few days ago someone dumped 4 kittens on the property. Two girls,
