| HUGE hairball! | 26 Sep 2003 19:49 GMT | 5 |
I had just gotten out of the shower and heard this weird sound, then what I thought was a huge "wet" belch. I thought my boyfriend was being gross, so I said "was that you?" and he said no, it was Ernie, that he just "puked up a log". I couldn't believe that such a gross, loud ...

Phil, Just back from the vet and Betsy's biopsy. When the vet cut through the layer of fat to biopsy the growth, up popped something that she says was a ball/bunch/glob of fat. ( not sure exactly which word she used) She said

| Desperately Seeking Zeniquin | 26 Sep 2003 01:22 GMT | 9 |
I also posted this on alt.med.veterinary. I feel like a drug addict. I want to obtain Zenequin for my 17 year old cat. He has mild CRF (most recently BUN 45 and creatinine 2.6, usually lower than that but he was somewhat dehydrated at the time of his last vet visit on 9/18).

Several posters have noted the earlier research that latent toxoplasmosis infections in human males (between 30%-80% of population) can lead to an increase in traffic accidents. That study is a few years old.

| Cat Spay Post Care | 25 Sep 2003 10:50 GMT | 2 |
On Tuesday afternoon my two year old cat was spayed. I left her in her carrier per the vet's directions and she flipped violently for about an hour. After I couldn't stand it anymore I just held her. A few hours later she was fine, playing like normal, eating normally.

Caught my cat peeing in our plastic linen basket this morning. He had done this once before, which we hadn't seen him doing it at the time, so couldn't tell him that it was wrong. But this morning, I actually saw him peeing in the basket, which I shouted

How do you call this low pitched sound, coming from deep inside, cats sometimes make when under stress.

| Cats and human babies? | 24 Sep 2003 23:58 GMT | 16 |
my wife and I have two indoor only cats (female and male, both fixed, about 1 1/2 years old, healthy). We are going to have a baby early next year and some of our friends keep telling us that cats and babies don't mix. My wife is starting to wonder if we will have to give away

| Can I Handle A Third Cat - More on Puff | 24 Sep 2003 20:59 GMT | 1 |
I went to visit Puff yesterday outside the house where he was living. He came right up to me to be petted. The lady next door has been feeding Puff and told me that she took him in to her vestibule that morning (no further because he likely has fleas) to clean up some

| UPDATE...re: HELP!! Sitter needed for my two fur babies! | 24 Sep 2003 15:26 GMT | 5 |
Hi all... It seems now that I need help as much as my kitty boys do. I have called all of the local shelters in Alberta and no one can or will help me. It appears that there are many, many men who are beating up on their wives, and the shelters are all full. How sad... :-(

| Should FIV+ feral (or strayed) cats be put to sleep ? | 24 Sep 2003 14:06 GMT | 5 |
I know somebody who rescued a feral cat but then decided that she couldn't adopt him because he's FIV+ and doesn't get along well with other cats. If the cat has already been neutered but is not adoptable

| Wits End | 24 Sep 2003 04:19 GMT | 3 |
We have a 4 year old calico cat. Starting 2 month's ago, she has started hissing and growling at her tail. Most of the behavior seems to take place at night. Sometimes her fits are so bad it sounds like she's in a huge brawl with many cats but its only directed towards her tail ...
