How do you know when it's time?09 Sep 2003 21:36 GMT4
My 16 yo cat, Shelia, was diagnosed with severe CRF a week ago Fri. The vet
gave subQ fluids and that seemed to help a lot. She perked up. Was very
feisty. And even bit me a couple of times when I tried to give her the subQ
fluids. But I've been managing that.
Kitten has been sneezing for 3-4 weeks now09 Sep 2003 20:35 GMT8
My 3 month old kitten has been sneezing now for close to 4 weeks.  I had him
for about a week when he began sneezing.  I immediately took him to the vet
but, because the kitten was acting and eating normal, the vet recommended
that we do nothing an let the virus either 1) run it's ...
Sad but I cracked up09 Sep 2003 19:30 GMT6
The guy who wrote the article below is hilarious. Now I see why Steve
is so concerned with ethoxyquin´s reputation. So companies did get
sued for using it, huh Steve?

some questions for cat people :)09 Sep 2003 14:50 GMT8
I am not sure if this is the correct NG to post to, but if somebody could
answer - that would be great.
Currently my wife and I are looking for a cat. We have narrowed it down to
either a ragdoll or a siberian. Both seem to be good candidates. Now it's
Need serious and personal advice on putting my 2 overweight cats on a diet...09 Sep 2003 13:54 GMT9
I have two cats and they both need to lose some weight, but I'm not sure how
to go about it.  We're currently suffering financial problems so I can't
really afford to take them to the vet just for diet advice, at least for a
few months.
How Do Cats Spray?09 Sep 2003 08:43 GMT9
Does anyone know from where cats, both male and female, spray from?  I know
they're not spraying urine, so where does the spray come from?  Thanks.
Lauren

Urine odor09 Sep 2003 08:37 GMT7
WE had to take our cat to the vet a couple of weeks ago and as I was inside
writing a check my husband took Mickey out to the car, set him on the seat
and Mickey got terrified and peed in a very large area.  Needless to say,
the car smells horrible now.  We poured vinegar/water ...
FIP09 Sep 2003 01:52 GMT3
After an antibody test and analyzing some biopsies taken of his liver,
kidney and small intestine, our cat was recently diagnosed with Feline
Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). We've been told that there is no cure
for FIP and that it is a fatal disease.
New cat-long-HELP08 Sep 2003 18:14 GMT7

WNV in cats and dogs08 Sep 2003 17:31 GMT1
I was curious about WNV when a feral has suddenly changed its behavior
(bad mosquito problem here).  He had a rabies shot, so it isn't that
and yes, you guys, I think everyone is right that he decided he likes
humans.  But I found this about WNV from the CDC website and it eased

The funniest thing is.. I can find myself looking over the girls' baby pix
again & again.  My advice to ANYone is Do take pictures of you cats,
especially when they are kittens!  My sister has ONE 'baby' picture of her
now rather old and sickly cat.  I'd bet she would rather have ...
Early age neutering?08 Sep 2003 07:17 GMT13
A very good friend of mine who has taken over running our local
shelter decided to try EAN (?).  She asked me what I thought of it and
since I have had no personal experience with it (my vet/boss doesn't
believe in it) I told her what I had heard from people in these groups.
cat in the box spring07 Sep 2003 14:18 GMT3
Here's a new one:
The past two weeks, Rizzo has taken to occasionally sleeping under my bed
during the day.  I suppose it's the coolest, quietest place, and thus he
finds it attractive.  What I didn't know is that he'd been gradually tearing
Indoor Cat - Escape Attempts07 Sep 2003 08:12 GMT2
Manuel, age 16 months, has been raised as an indoor cat, along with his
companion, Basil - age 21 months. In the last six weeks, Manuel who has
always been the more adventuresome of the two, has taken to mad dashes for
the front yard every time the door is opened.
Lymphosarcoma?07 Sep 2003 04:51 GMT10
I don't know if anyone has noted the couple of posts where I have
mentioned Laurel...
About 2 weeks ago, one of my 12 years old kitties was limping on one
back leg. I suspected maybe she had hurt herself jumping off a chair or
