Feline kidney disease16 Aug 2003 02:54 GMT9
My 16 year old cat was recently diagnosed with kidney disease.  The vet had
me switch his food to Hills K/D, and told me to give him a baby aspirin
every other day. He doesn't seem to get filled up on the cat food, and the
vet suggested that I not feed him canned food.

How much food do you give your cats?16 Aug 2003 02:22 GMT7
Howdy,
We have 3 cats and all are pretty damn HUGE.  We feed them a mix of Purina Cat Chow and Science Diet
Light Hairball food.  We just dump them in a big container and mix them up and scoop some out for
them.
Can a cat be taught the meaning of 'no'?16 Aug 2003 01:21 GMT14
I don't mean yelling at the cat, but just saying 'no', and the cat obeying.
Is it possible to teach a cat to stop doing what it is just starting to do
if you merely say 'no'?

"rods" - what is it?14 Aug 2003 18:36 GMT4
Greetings all -- My 9-month old kitten was having some diarrhea, so I
took him in for a fecal exam and he has something the vet calls
"rods."  I'd like to do some research on it, but I don't know the name
other than "rods."  Does anybody know what this is?  Vet tech said
Cats and guitars14 Aug 2003 18:03 GMT4
We've got two cats. One doesn't seem to mind my guitar at all, the other
can't stand it and belts out of the room as fast as possible when I pick it
up, even before I've started playing. (If she's asleep she wakes up and gets
out).
Cat that doesn't knead14 Aug 2003 11:14 GMT2
Just curious, I have a cat that doesn't knead.  All of my other cats knead,
and any other cat I've had did.  I got her at about 8 months old, don't know
much about her life before that.  She purrs and headbutts and likes to
cuddle, just doesn't do the kneading thing.
possible temporary home needed for LA Maine Coone14 Aug 2003 08:18 GMT4
This cat belongs to our next-door neighbor Bob.  On June 15, I got
suspicious when I noticed the newspapers piling up outside Bob's door
because he would always let someone know when he was going away and his car
was here.  I mentioned my suspicions to another neighbor named Sunday ...

I have 5 cats. Started with two, but got to the boy kitty a day to late.
Anyway, Tigercat, the father, has just recently started to hiss at all the
other cats when they get within about 5 feet from him. He has been with these
cats since they were born and (to my knowledge) has never ...

Is my cat depressed?13 Aug 2003 01:48 GMT5
I have a four-year-old cat (Miss Kitty) who has had some serious
health problems for the past two weeks, and I'm getting desperate.
She started off vomiting and getting slightly listless.  I took her to
the vet who found she was extremely constipated, completely impacted.
