Water Fountain:  How often should I clean it?10 Jul 2003 04:59 GMT4
I have one of those "Drinkwell" water fountains for my two cats.  The
water passes through a fiberglass/charcoal filter, then out a spout
into a dish, and is then recirculated.  I have to add about quart of
water every three days.
random urination update10 Jul 2003 00:05 GMT7
Hi folks - a few weeks ago, I wrote for some help with Skipjack, who uses his
box but uses other places as well.  His first visit to the vet showed no UTI.
Neither did a visit to a different vet.  We tried to go to my preferred vet,
but she's an hour away.  On the day we had the ...
Help! Fostered cat suffering from severe anxiery09 Jul 2003 23:41 GMT3
My family and I have moved to the UK and our cat is being looked after
by friends until she fulfills all of the requirements to not be
quarantined in the UK (it will take about six months). She is about
ten years old and has been separated from us for about two weeks. We
Matted cat hair!09 Jul 2003 23:31 GMT4
I have a short hair indoor cat. He's about 6yrs old. On his back there
is about 4 or 5 little clumps about the size of my thumb. It's matted
and tangled. I tried to use a brush and comb but ts just too tangeled.
Im thinking about trying to wash/shampoo it out. Last but not least I
cat acne?09 Jul 2003 20:19 GMT7
One of my cats has got black crusty bits on the fur on her chin. I believe
this is a sign of overactive sebaceous glands/cat acne. Can anyone confirm
this? The only time I've come across cat acne before it was a lot more
obvious than this, but cleared up in a week or so with daily ...
Update as of 7/8/03: homeless man and kittens09 Jul 2003 04:33 GMT1
I think the guy is a con artist.  All last week, the guy didn't have
the kittens with him at all.  On Monday morning and this morning, he
had them back again.  This guy is working a scam.  How do you have
kittens one week, and then not another when you're homeless?  You
I Lost Tony09 Jul 2003 02:47 GMT10
He was only 11 months old. A major organ was involved and little could be done
but everything was tried. There was something about him that always seemed not
long for this world in spite of the fact that he appeared quite happy and
healthy until a few weeks ago. I lost another 13 ...
Siamese biter09 Jul 2003 02:29 GMT6
My brothers and sister and I got a Siamese kitten for our mother for
Christmas.  "Molly" is now about eight months old, and has been a great pet
for my parents except for one thing - she bites (in play, and perhaps
sometimes affectionately), and she bites HARD.  It's especially hard ...
For anyone battling flea dermatitis + bathing09 Jul 2003 02:12 GMT1
As I've mentioned a few times on this group, my dog Bubbas has
allergies up the wazzoo - flea, food, and outdoor pollen etc....
Recently he got worse, was losing hair on his lower back and tail, so
we went to an actual dermatologist for some further diagnosing.
I thought you might like this story08 Jul 2003 23:12 GMT7
I thought you might like this story from a TV/Book writer who posts on another
board.
I recently lost a cat that I'm still very sad about. It is good to hear these
kinds of stories.
Dog lover turned kitten mother, LOTS of questions..08 Jul 2003 22:59 GMT31
Hi all!  Yes, I have converted.  I still love my great dane, but the newest
love of my life (Hailey the supposed maine coon) has me stressed.  In all 21
of my years, I've never owned a feline, so perhaps having rescued a 4 week
old  kitten that insists that I'm her mommie from which ...
Advice pls: good HCM/medical cat book?08 Jul 2003 21:30 GMT2
I'm trying to get as much info as I can for all of my kitties,
including the three HCM kitties.
I did a quick search on Amazon and found three books:
1. The Cornell Book of Cats by Mordecai Siegel ISBN 0679449531
Considering Radio Iodine Treatment08 Jul 2003 20:29 GMT6
I'm about 90% sure this is the way I want to go. My cat was diagnosed
with hyperthyroidism about 3 weeks ago. He has been on Tapazole 2x a
day since then. He hates being pilled, it takes 3 or 4 tries to get
him to take the pill each time. His activity level has gone down
kidney problems08 Jul 2003 18:12 GMT1

Falling asleep08 Jul 2003 17:44 GMT4
Does anyone else have cats whose head drops when they fall asleep?
I was thinking about things my cats do that make us laugh.
In the evening they like to sit with us when we watch TV. Now like most cats
they sleep a lot but remain alert. However there are times when they fall
