My diabetes has been giving me a really bad time
these past few days. I've been becoming hypoglycemic
in the afternoons and thank goodness DH is home
or I may have been in a lot of trouble Monday.
Okay now job purrs23 Jul 2008 21:56 GMT16
Had my second interview for the new job yesterday- it sounds amazing,
they have someone coming in 3 mornings a week to do the bulk of the
typing- the consultant really wants someone who with a bit of training
can monitor his email for him (A job I already do for 2 of my doctors

Maryweather went to the Rainbow Bridge23 Jul 2008 21:50 GMT19
I stepped outside for a moment and when I started back in I saw
Maryweather lying dead under the back steps.  I can't bury her right now
because the reason I was headed back inside was that there were skunks
only a few feet away.  No visible injuries - I have no idea what killed
KFC's weekend23 Jul 2008 21:44 GMT18
After I posted on Thursday about how well she was doing, she had a bit of an
off day on Friday.  She didn't really want to eat the expensive cat food,
nor the tuna, nor the beef mince.  So she didn't.  Boyfie got to hoover up
the tuna and the top-end cat food, he couldn't believe ...

I miss my Mutt22 Jul 2008 23:51 GMT21
Hi.  I have never posted to this group before, but my wife Kyla has posted
much and you may have read her posts.  We have always had kitties and they
have been our guardian angels.
We have had some very special kitties over the years.  One of the most
So sad :-(22 Jul 2008 22:36 GMT11
You all remember the little red panda that was being fed by a mother cat
here in Holland ? They found him dead yesterday morning. He'd choked on the
milk, his trachea was filled with milk. What a tragic accident, especially
since he was in a very good condition otherwise :-(
New carpet and cancer22 Jul 2008 22:36 GMT7
Seems I have heard somewhere that kitties can get cancer from
something in new carpet.  We are going to begin building a new home
and I would like to know what to avoid.  Is there a certain carpet
treatment to avoid?  A certain chemical?  Any help will be greatly
Nurse Waffles in charge22 Jul 2008 07:14 GMT4
This morning, Vernon's plastered leg was giving him some gip. He'd had a
rough night, so had a lie-in this morning. Nurse Waffles was in attendence.
She gently jumped up on Vernon's chest, curled up with her head under his
chin and *purred* her quiet purr. Paw immediately relaxed ...
Purrs for new hobby22 Jul 2008 03:21 GMT11
Soon I will have a new toy with which to terrorize the cats - a Gibson RB
Deluxe Mastertone banjo. I start lessons next weekend.
Please purr that I am able to learn this instrument and that I rapidly
increase in skill.

I would like to call your attention to "Raising Duncan" posted on-line for
20 July: tinyurl.com/686vvo or
www.comics.com/comics/raisingduncan/archive/raisingduncan-20080720.html
Those with indoor/outdoor cats are all too familiar with that scene.
Chester has a purrday!21 Jul 2008 20:40 GMT17
Chester's 12th purrday was almost lost.  His honourary 12th purrday (not
sure what the real day was) was the 19th of July.  Otis was 12.5 that day.
Chester is remains fluffy and cheerful and celebrated by waking us up at
4 AM today and settling in for a good loud leg groom by our ...
