Roasting a chicken04 Sep 2010 13:39 GMT9
Watching one of the old reruns of Julia Child and she's showing how to
prepare a chicken for roasting.  I just love this woman.
She removed bony elbows on the wings and she even removed the wishbone from
the breast part.  Do you guys do that?  I've roasted many chickens and never
Purrs needed for sweet kitty04 Sep 2010 13:07 GMT6
A friend of mine just told me that her cat hasn't been feeling well.
She's not eating and she's listless. She has a vet appointment for
today, so we'll see what they say, but I'm worried. Biscuit is not a
young cat - I think she's maybe 10 or so. I'm very attached to her
Purrs  for Dawn04 Sep 2010 13:07 GMT12
Please may I ask for purrs and prayers for my friend Dawn. She has been
told today that she has breast cancer.
She is the most gentle and nice person anyone could ever meet and needs
all the help she can get.
visit to Lothian Cat Rescue03 Sep 2010 22:53 GMT16
We live about a mile from Lothian Cat Rescue:
http://www.lothiancatrescue.org/
but haven't visited the place for years.  We had two reasons for going
today: Marion had a minor stroke/TIA earlier in the week and isn't quite
All your fleas are belong to us03 Sep 2010 20:30 GMT9
Ack! We've got an infestation!
I've Front-lined all the cats, put stinky piowder into the carpet,
sprayed down the upholstery with yet more stinky stuff, and vacuumed
and dumped the vacuum cannister.
Handling kitties a bit roughly03 Sep 2010 19:33 GMT8
I once read that babies don't like being handled gingerly, and that
they will equate firmer handling with being tended to with confidence.
So I try to handle Dot and Buster with a level of roughness that they
respond best to.
Butterscotch is a good boy03 Sep 2010 19:20 GMT4
Last night, Butterscotch came to our door and I let him in. Then I got
busy and forgot he was here.
After a couple of hours, I got up and went to get a drink.
Butterscotch was sitting on the chair in the hallway, and very

I wish I could programme him to only catch young rats, and the occasional
Would you eat it?03 Sep 2010 17:02 GMT42
This morning DH was late waking up to feed the cats their breakfast.  I
didn't want to wake him by yelling for him, so I managed to climb up the
stairs and fixed myself a chicken sandwich (traditional breakfast foods tend
to make me nauseated for some reason).  After pouring a ...
Has anyone ever seen a black cat with blue eyes?03 Sep 2010 14:52 GMT7
Every year I buy a 365 Cats Calendar, a page a day calendar from Workman
Press.
Every day, there's a pic of a cat of kitten, and some interesting text
about the cat, or cats and kittens in general. Lots of useful
What happened to Annie and Jim?02 Sep 2010 20:16 GMT18
Since coming back (a little) and reading, I've noticed that Annie
hasn't been around, but Phoenix has Cinder and Little Bit. What
happened to Rosie, and is Annie and Jim alright? I always enjoyed
hearing about the boat.
Apology, was Re: MoseyO Made a Cheezburger02 Sep 2010 18:20 GMT32
I am *SO* sorry, MM, for my rant at you.  You didn't deserve that and I hope
you will accept my apology.  You, in no way, said or did anything that
deserves what I did.
Believe it or not, I *am* trying to learn to keep a post/reply in my drafts

The 97-year-old Harrison, Michigan resident was working in her garden
recently when her neighbors four pit bulls surrounded her.

Lola: the kitten thrown in the bin01 Sep 2010 18:11 GMT6
The perpetrator of this outrage works for the Royal Bank of Scotland.  They
say they will not discipline her as she hasn't done anything that affects
her work, or something such as that.
It occurs to me to post this link to RBS, there is a button at the top
