Calming a Pet:  Mom is getting more desperate, I'm getting more anxious10 May 2008 22:41 GMT10
So... I just placed a call to Persia's vet.
I want to find out if he thinks something like Rescue Remedy will help keep
her calm in what will amount to a two or three leg journey (with stays in
pet-friendly motels), me driving us about 700 miles.

If KFC cannot eat any cat food that is chunky and needs it all crushed up
because of her ancient teeth, why can she eat a collared dove or a rat?
With bones in, and wings and feathers and feet. Which she does. Eats the
lot.  Very good for her bowels ;-)
Purrs for People in Arkasas (OT)10 May 2008 22:30 GMT4
I wasn't online at all yesterday because really bad weather was moving
across Arkansas (fast!) heading in my direction.
I haven't watched the news today but when I went to bed last night there
were 8 people dead and countless others injured due to tornadoes.  Massive

It was a beautiful day today and the 1st of May is a holiday here, so
Mum, my niece and I went to the zoo. I took some pics, but they're
nowhere near as gorgeous as my other niece's pictures. I did get a nice
series of the European wildcat, who was putting on a whole show at the

Candles10 May 2008 06:08 GMT5
I love the candle site.  However, I read some of the messages for 8 Bells
and will never read messages again.  I prefer to stick my head in the sand
and pretend people light candles for comfort not an excuse to vent.
Are cats ticklish?10 May 2008 05:02 GMT2
I know it's a silly question, but I wonder if cats are ticklish like
humans. Any views? The closest Emily comes is that if you scratch her
lower back in a certain spot, she reflexively licks herself, but I
think many cats do that. But she know's that I'M ticklish. When I get
Raising orphan kittens09 May 2008 22:07 GMT1
Hi Bridget,
I have raised several orphans, and 3 weeks is too young to be eating
solid foods exclusively. I would buy the powdered KMR, so you could make
it fresh every time you feed. I make a formula called Glop, which is
RIP Tony Rainbow Bridge about 10:30am09 May 2008 21:26 GMT26
I am so devastated, but the procedure was gentle and I got some peace
out of it. Now it is just the overwhelming grief to deal with.
Surprising, making the decision was hard, acting on the decision was
hard. Living with the consequences are easy. I know he is at peace and
Funny cat comic09 May 2008 20:23 GMT2
I don't usually laugh or even chuckle (out loud) at web comics, funny or
not - I just enjoy them.  Friday's "Two Lumps" broke my silence:

Willow, the cold cat09 May 2008 15:09 GMT4
I bought one of those heat wraps for my wrist.  I actually got some sleep
last night.  However, when the alarm went off, I thought my arm was on fire.
My Willow kitty is always cold.  Sometime in the night she discovered the
heat on my wrist and proceeded to lay down on it to ...
Dunzi is a Tardis09 May 2008 12:30 GMT1
I may have mentioned many times before that Dunzi is somewhat on the small
side- so small in fact that a friend had a go at me for not getting Sarsi
spayed in time because he thought Dunzi must be her daughter! Sarsi's not
huge but Dunzi is small (but feisty!)
