We're missing another kitten. Miss Emily cries to me about it every time I
see her. She snuggles deep into my arms when I pick her up.
If (a) she didn't hate all the other indoor kitties and (b) apartment
management didn't keep an eye out and (c) we didn't have a city-mandated

Just a short update on the two neighborhood combatants, Gray kitty and
Frank, that I asked you to purr for. Frank is here on my patio now so
I know his swollen foot is better. I think he prefers my patio to his
home across the alley because he has a couple d*gs to put up with at

Mum is a s thin as a rail with a sore back and Itty Bitty Willow
(which is now her name because it suited her) is very sneezy with
goopy eyes, but they are going to be fine I think!
Gemma (mum cat) is very friendly, a wonderful and very protective mum

Thanks for all the purrs. The blood tests came back Wednesday and she has a
virus. I forgot what it is.
She is in the hospital and they are getting fluids into her. She is starting
to feel better.

There was, apparently, and earthquake this morning.  According to USGS,
it was 5.4, centered in Illinois (NW of Evansville, IN, and SW of
Vincennes, IN), was felt as far away as St. Louis, MO!

Stupid, stupid woman!

Okay, okay...
Getting used to the variety of sounds made by a chicken. But until I got a
couple of ex-batts, I never realised that chickens purr. They can make a
noise that is just like a cat's purr, but a bit higher pitched.

She started sneezing a few days ago, I didn't think anything of it at first
but now there is green gunk coming down one nostril.
She hasn't eaten this evening and is hugging the fire.  I guess she can't
smell her food and feels poorly.

Has discovered that the roof of the new hen house run is a rather good place
to sunbathe upon. Trouble is, as soon as I appear with camera, Francis
disappears off the roof.

Shadow is getting more confident every day, he spent his third night in last
night. This morning he followed me round as I filled up the bird feeders and
when we came in I sat on the floor to pet him, he purred louder than ever. I
don't think it will be too long before he gets on ...

After he finished eating, I let YoHo wander around.
He discovered the cat tree, with two dangly toys and a piece of loose
rope from the scratching post. I watched him through the cutout, and
could see him attacking one of the danglies over and over. He's drop

Well, okay, lizards.  Boy howdy, when I get back here to SC with Persia
she's going to be fascinated by the new wildlife!  From the hummingbirds
that dart around the feeder to the geckos.  I'm not sure, but I think that
gecko by the mailbox today was trying to sell me car ...

My beautiful Lily turns 3 today. :)
She gave me great joy when she came into my
life after my sweet boy Jazz went to the RB. She
is sweet and talk to me a lot and I love her.
