My mom called this afternoon. My 70+ Dad is in the hopspital with a
blood infection and possible Gall Stones. He might have to have his

I brought Pinky (now named Tess) home from the shelter a few days
before Christmas.  She spends most of her time in the guest room but
isn't hiding.  She's usually on the bed or dresser, though I have
found her under the bed a few times.

I read an article in 'Best Friends' magazine (the cat rescue organization in
the U.S., with whom I've sponsored two animals) about how people in
Australia generally consider cats as nuisances, not good pets and "not
friendly".

It's impossible.  Isn't it?
So I've had Pinky how long now?  Several months?  And of course, I had
to have *some* name for him to put on the vet papers.  And to call him
by, of course.  Cats *must* have a name, even if it *is* Pinky.

Four is doing so well.  Two biggies:  he lets me run my hand along his belly
now, that was a long time in coming.  And the part of the wound that was
open under all of his jaw is now closed, covered by new skin and new fur!!
