Orange kitty's arrival delayed25 Jan 2008 20:21 GMT8
I hope this message makes it...seems some of my recent posts have not shown
up, and I'm starting to feel like I've been booted or something. but anyway...
We will be picking him up from Marilyn's tomorrow after her service, and from
there to the vet to get his routine screenings. I ...
Litter choice24 Jan 2008 23:27 GMT18
Up until the time I had Frank and Lyle move in with me I used standard clay
litter.  I had one open litter box filled with a 3 or so inches.  It worked
well and Zak left most of the litter in the pan.  The new boys made quite a
mess so I bought the enclosed boxes which they seem ...
Purrs for my Dad Please24 Jan 2008 23:01 GMT29
My mom called this afternoon. My 70+ Dad is in the hopspital with a
blood infection and possible Gall Stones. He might have to have his
Gall bladder removed. Could you please have your masters rev up their
purr motors.
Melba does not have cancer24 Jan 2008 22:59 GMT15
My SIL has asked me to thank all of you for your thoughts, purrs, and
prayers for Melba.  They got the test results back earlier than expected
and they were negative for cancer.  She appears to have had a flare-up
of her IBS and is having some steriods for a while but seems to be ...
Miracle - Star24 Jan 2008 22:14 GMT16
I had just worked myself up into total despair, checked my blackberry in
the car - no messages - came in the house - new message from my friend
James.
I had called James first because he helped rehome another cat about 12
Update on Pinky24 Jan 2008 22:01 GMT9
I brought Pinky (now named Tess) home from the shelter a few days
before Christmas.  She spends most of her time in the guest room but
isn't hiding.  She's usually on the bed or dresser, though I have
found her under the bed a few times.
I Question Something about Best Friends... need to ask our Aussie friends24 Jan 2008 21:50 GMT9
I read an article in 'Best Friends' magazine (the cat rescue organization in
the U.S., with whom I've sponsored two animals) about how people in
Australia generally consider cats as nuisances, not good pets and "not
friendly".
Re-Naming a Cat24 Jan 2008 18:14 GMT28
It's impossible.  Isn't it?
So I've had Pinky how long now?  Several months?  And of course, I had
to have *some* name for him to put on the vet papers.  And to call him
by, of course.  Cats *must* have a name, even if it *is* Pinky.
Four Jan 18 200824 Jan 2008 14:37 GMT34
Four is doing so well.  Two biggies:  he lets me run my hand along his belly
now, that was a long time in coming.  And the part of the wound that was
open under all of his jaw is now closed, covered by new skin and new fur!!
The deeper part of the injury which streches along his ...
Cat Slave = Heated Padded Food Dispenser24 Jan 2008 10:29 GMT8
At least, that seems to be my function, lately. =o) Don't laugh too
hard, those of you living in snowy climates--for us, the California
weather has been very gray, wet, and wintery all week. I go around
dressed in multiple layers, make multiple cups of tea and work at my
cat tumor24 Jan 2008 02:46 GMT4
last evening I happened to notice my 7 month old cat has a tumor the
size of a golf ball on the side of his body. This is shocking because
I never noticed anything unusual before. Can't get appt. til 2morrow.
Any advice?

a kitten from a 55-gallon rain barrel at her home southeast of Santa Fe.

Quickie on Frank23 Jan 2008 22:36 GMT10
I got Frank close to me using the laser dot and was able to get a full on
petting of him.  I stroked his back and ticked his head and ears and for
the first time heard the most amazing sound I have heard around here for
some time, purring!
Ok, I think I'm the subject of an on going b*st*rd cat tricks23 Jan 2008 18:57 GMT2
This is winter, right?  We get snow, right?  what happens when it
snows?  Right, the cats think the world has ended and that it is my
fault.
Well, the world started ending last Saturday afternoon.  It snowed and
Snowmonsters!23 Jan 2008 17:14 GMT2
I live in an area noted for high winds, lots of precipitation and
temperatures that often hover around 0C. The builders of my house (and
the city planners, if they *had* city planners back then!) didn't take
prevailing winds into consideration and therefore I'm quite regularly
