| Jalapeno Latkes! | 14 Dec 2007 23:56 GMT | 26 |
For Hanukkah, and just for the hell of it! I love bagels with cream cheese and jalapenos (it opens your eyes right up in the morning), and this recipe from a New York Mexican restaurant was scrumptious! Potato-Jalapeño Latkes (Pancakes) With Horseradish Crema

All the cats are normal, eating well and the litter box looks fine. :-/ I'm hoping this was a fluke and everybody is ok. One good thing came out of this experience though, as I finally went ahead and enrolled the kids in an insurance plan. I chose the one offered through the ASPCA ...

| I'm gonna be a slave again! | 14 Dec 2007 22:58 GMT | 29 |
A woman on our local Freecycle was trying to re-home two very beloved littermates because her son had become too allergic. I wasn't ready to take them when they were advertised, but through various Mothership-like interventions I found myself typing out a reply two weeks later ...

http://schatzistreasures.com/images/apersiancat.jpg I got one. Should be here before Christmas. Casey passed Monday from kidney failure. This sorta looks like him. Bobby is missing the Case man as I am. Whenever there is a noise,

| Cat Four Progress Report 2 | 14 Dec 2007 17:52 GMT | 13 |
There is no progress to report. Four didn't show up today or tonight. It is now 7:15pm. I will lock Victor Velcro in and leave the porch open so that Four can return and prehaps feel comfortable there for a while. I'm sad about this.

| Very specific kitties | 14 Dec 2007 12:54 GMT | 3 |
I have been quite amused by the differences I've seen in preferences between the kitties. Most of them don't seem to have a strong preference for either Nancy or me. Amelia loves to shoulder-ride with both of us and snuggles with both of us. Tabitha likes to shoulder-ride with ...

| O. T. Brooms | 14 Dec 2007 06:18 GMT | 5 |
BROOMS! Two brooms were hanging in the closet and after a while they got to know each other so well, they decided to get married. One broom was, of course, the bride broom, the other the groom broom. The

| Cards away to foreign parts | 14 Dec 2007 04:02 GMT | 6 |
Well, I took my piles of holiday cards to the post office to get them weighed and sent to *abroad* on Monday. I got the most grumpy person in the world to deal with them. She said "What? all these cards to America and Europe?"

| It occured to me today.... | 14 Dec 2007 02:59 GMT | 7 |
It occured to me today, that I joined RPCA in 1998 when HRFL Tiger was an "Itty bitty hooli-kitty!" He's now 9, going on 10!!! HRFL used to be so small, I had to carry him in my dressing gown pocket so I didn't step on him! Now he's so hefty, I can barely lift

| very appreciated note from my vet about Casey's passing | 14 Dec 2007 00:12 GMT | 5 |
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b171/lync_jl/misc/card_inside_sanitized.jpg I will keep this card forever. She confirmed I did the right thing and I really appreciate receiving this card from her. She was the vet that first examined Casey at 8 weeks old and saw him throughout his

| It's that time of the year.... | 13 Dec 2007 23:21 GMT | 2 |
Either I was better organized this year or had more time. I got my cards done faster than I thought I would. Although I will admit some of the writing isn't the best(due to tired hand and spasms) and I had a few places I had to use White-out.(which is old and no longer

| Purrs for Phoenix | 13 Dec 2007 22:35 GMT | 18 |
A lady called us (SPCA of Northern VA) about a cat that showed up on her porch and didn't want to leave. We picked him up and it turns out that his front leg is severely injured because someone wrapped rubber bands around it at the arm pit level. He has been at the vet
