Trill is going to the vet16 Nov 2007 22:13 GMT10
and any purrs are appreciated.
He has several soft lumps on his back near his spine.  It's very similar
to what Merlyn has had, off and on, for awhile.  The vet didn't think it
was anything serious with Merlyn, but had no idea what it is.  Merlyn's
The home-loving Roadcat (a little long)16 Nov 2007 22:08 GMT13
It seems impossible to me that my introduction to Harri Roadcat took place
more than 3 years ago. The patience displayed by her caretakers in
Illinois and their willingness to drive into central Missouri to make the
handoff, Harri's resilience in adjusting to life in a mobile broom ...

Check out this story of two young men who put themselves way out to get two
tiny kittens out of a drain.  It does my heart good, especially when there
are so many stories about of animals mistreated by young people.
Purrs for shelter cats16 Nov 2007 21:57 GMT13
Jake has been missing his sister, who went to the bridge in April, so
I decided to find a friend for him.  I found a few cats on Petfinder
at the humane society that I wanted to check out.
As soon as I sat down in the cat room, a medium hair black cat sat
Where is everything??16 Nov 2007 21:55 GMT4
I'm getting my living room painted on Tuesday, so I've been slowly
emptying the room out, moving furniture and stuff into my other rooms.
I did it bit by bit so I wouldn't hurt myself by lugging too much
stuff on the same day. At this point, the living room is nearly empty,
The Intricate Rules of Grooming16 Nov 2007 21:54 GMT7
Frank and Nikki used to have a definite 'pecking' order, i.e. grooming
order; several times a day, Nikki would walk up to a sleeping Frank and
assume a position in front of his nose, and he would wake up and
immediately start grooming her. It was as if she ordered him to groom

I'm not responding to personal emails for a while (possibly forever at
this rate) because I am seriously infested by computer viruses or is
that viruii?  Please don't think I'm being rude, I'm just trying to
lessen the potential for infestation of my friends.  Next month, I

Slightly OT - PBS Nature "The Cheetah Orphans"16 Nov 2007 06:14 GMT4
Watch out for it on your PBS station, but beware, there are some sad
moments in the story. But needless to say the Cheetah cubs are beautiful.

For All Who Need Them15 Nov 2007 19:09 GMT1
So much is going on on rpca!  I wish to offer blanket purrs to all who need
them.  Healing/health purrs (for furballs or hoomins), purrs for losses,
purrs for hope.  (Purrs for Ginger-Lyn's "new" waterbed to be set up ASAP!)
Persia has been purring up a storm for everyone the last ...
Sleeping with her eyes open!15 Nov 2007 19:02 GMT5
Persia was on her back, her back legs splayed out and her front paws tucked
to her chest.  Her head was tilted to the side.  Her eyes were open but only
slightly, as if she was so sleepy they were drooping.  Then I noticed her
eyes were crossed.  And one of her back paws twitched a ...
Eeek! Dante's first mouse!15 Nov 2007 18:34 GMT4
Dante came swaggering out of the kitchen carrying something this evening,
and my mom said "Ohh- no!  What is that!?"  And my heart sank to see it was
a still-alive mouse in his mouth.   Dante's first real mouse! To my
knowledge, he hadn't seen one before.  We had the house ...
Purrs for Marilyn15 Nov 2007 16:25 GMT12
I'e mentioned Marilyn, our Brandy-candy's foster mama, on a few occasions. i
heard she's gotten really bad with the ALS ("Lou Gehrig's disease".) I just
heard today that they've put a feeding tube in her stomach; she is confined
to a wheelchair; and though a very small, slight woman ...

a first for Samwise15 Nov 2007 15:10 GMT7
I was sitting in bed under the covers before I put on hand lotion and turn
off the light. I hear a loud purring in the hallway. " Where is mommy's
kitty, come see mommy" I said. Samwise is standing in the doorway. Then he
leaps onto the bed and lays down near me. He never gets on ...
