Hugs,

Purrs requested for a wide range of issues25 Oct 2007 22:36 GMT27
Man, so many unrelated things to ask for purrs about..
Mom went in for a ultrasound on the tumor found on her ovary. It was
found to be the size of a grapefruit. She sees the surgeon Tuesday. We
could use purrs that this can be taken care of quickly and completely.

How a friend is preparing for evacuation (definitely ON topic)25 Oct 2007 18:04 GMT8
I have a friend who lives near San Diego.  I contacted her today to see if
everything is okay, and she says they have had lots of smoke but no impact
from the fires -- at least not yet.  I thought some of you might be
interested in the preparations she has made for her cat in ...

Sun/Mon/Tues to "play" (he's planning on taking a train trip, probably to
see Arnhem & Nijmegen).

Ellen Degeneres is Still Talking24 Oct 2007 23:39 GMT8
I caught the last 30 minutes of her show this morning.  She isn't
*specifically* mentioning the dog she rehomed.  But she had representatives
of the ASPCA on discussing the many and varied contracts shelters and rescue
organizations have.  I think most people here would agree a pet ...

but now although she's home she may not make her next birthday in
Bad News About Archer24 Oct 2007 21:12 GMT52
The vet just called and said that when they got the cast off they saw that
the skin on his leg was almost flayed - there's even one spot where the skin
is gone completely!  They're going to keep him over the weekend so they can
leave the cast off and allow his leg to heal a bit.  ...
Cold front zoomies24 Oct 2007 20:08 GMT11
Last night the first cold front of the season blew through, dropping our
temperature by 30 F (16.6C) in less than 24 hours. This morning the cats
were zooming all over the house, bouncing off the walls and refusing to
go out to their enclosure. :)
Tribute to Life of Silver Buttonwood (Possible TW)24 Oct 2007 19:33 GMT5
I've posted about my visits to a large shorthaired grey-striper tabby
cat, whom I would drop into the Garden Center
of the local Sears dept. store in area in south FL where I lived
then.....his name was Silver ("Silver Buttonwood",
A Judge Show (somewhat disturbing and long)24 Oct 2007 15:20 GMT12
Occasionally I watch those silly judge shows because they can be
entertaining.  I caught one this morning (Judge Maria Lopez) that was
disturbing on two levels.
The plaintiff was a woman who left her dog and a cockatiel with the owners
