Sleeping like the Dead29 Sep 2007 20:56 GMT4
Yesterday I had a birthday party, sortof.  Basically, I wanted  Costco
cake for my birthday, and since the smallest one is a half sheet cake,
I invited friends and family over to help me eat my cake.  We had a
BLAST.

[*NOT* OT] UseNet Scams29 Sep 2007 19:28 GMT12
I've come across an incident of a scam recently going around UseNet and
email that I think you guys should know about.  This particular scam works
really well in animal newsgroups (or private emails to the animal lovers who
frequent them) because it tugs at the heartstrings, and ...
Anyone owned by a one-eyed kitty?29 Sep 2007 10:46 GMT18
Well, I am going to shelter regularly and have an application for
volunteering - they need somebody to brush kitties and I like brushing
kitties!  Have been down with a nasty flu myself and did manage to get all
my kitty essentials but not yet the kitty.  Charlotte the attention ...
I have a new neighbor29 Sep 2007 05:01 GMT3
Of the feline persuasion, naturally. =o) My next door neighbor, a
fairly nice guy I run into once in a while  in  passing, already had
an adolescent female black and white spotted girl. I sometimes stop
and "talk" to her while she's in the front window of my neighbor's

New kitten in the famiy29 Sep 2007 00:09 GMT13
My niece, Charlotte, has showed an interest in having a cat since she was 4
years old.  She is 7 now and her father, my brother, has let her get one a
few weeks ago, from a shelter, the RSPCA. she chose a tabby boy that was
about to die cos no one wanted him.
Tail of a new kitty.....28 Sep 2007 22:35 GMT16
The black, 3-legged young cat was brought into Animal Control.  No one
noticed she'd been nursing because ferals are left alone to calm down,
and then dealt with one by one.  Well, not all the cats the man
brought in turned out to be wild-or strays, but it was several days
She's home, it's a miracle, and this is going to be long!28 Sep 2007 12:47 GMT17
Our Odessa came home today in great spirits, next to no coughing--more an
occasional "ahem"--and has already taken her revenge on us b y sneaking out
of the computer room where we'll be keeping her to recover, and getting into
the crawl space. Louie made a mess of himself getting ...
Moving; the Nightmare, Part I27 Sep 2007 23:53 GMT13
Most of you know why we had to move, what with the new Young, Cold,
"It's just business" Landlord making it clear he was not fond of us, or
the cats.  And he wanted us to sign a lease that included so many
ridiculous things, I just could not bring myself to sign the thing
Tiger Balm27 Sep 2007 23:39 GMT36
Sorry I have participated so little lately.  Life's been insane lately
and on top of it all I've been sick.  So purrs for everyone who needs
them!
I started out having the flu and now it's progressed to an annoying
Could Your Carpet be Hurting Your Cat?27 Sep 2007 22:12 GMT5

TAMPA - Chemicals in your carpeting could be killing your cat. In August,
the federal government's Environmental Protection Agency shared some scary
news: research scientists had found a link between flame-retardant chemicals
I'm gonna be sneaky :)27 Sep 2007 20:58 GMT20
My brother, who is about to to undergo surgery tomorrow, told me on the
phone last night when he recovers he wants to get a pet.  Apparently
wandering around all by himself in that 5 bedroom house is a bit lonely.
The first thing he said was, "Maybe I'll go to the shelter and get a ...
I be mobbed!27 Sep 2007 19:56 GMT8
I laid down to read, and Little Boy, being the teddy bear that he is,
jumped onthe bed, climbed up on my hip and settled in to a nice rumbly
purr session.
Little Feet, not to be outdone, joins me, and snuggles up to my chest.
very ot: californians may know the answer27 Sep 2007 18:41 GMT5
Back in the 70's I remember an artist in California that hung sheets
of material either in a desert or across a ravine, I can't remember.
I was trying to find some information about it but didn't have any
luck with my searches.
