Last night, Smudge had diarrhea, most likely from the antibiotics she's
been getting for her foot (which is healing nicely, btw - her walk is
pretty much normal now). So I want to go out today to get her some
acidophilus or other gut-bacteria replacement, but I don't know how

I'm sorry to have to report the loss to heart disease of Betsy, the last
surviving cat of Heather my lovely neighbour. George, her other owner,
caught the same fatal virus as my Pericles 2.5 years ago and they passed at
the same time.

Did I imagine it, or was someone posting about a senior cat yowling
(apparently at nothing, for no reason)?

My dad is in the hospital, and in a very bad way. In fact, this may be
his last hurrah.

I hope all of you and your masters are fine.  I have been reading about
flood waters in England.  Reports say some area have had 60-year highs, with
more rain forecast.  I hope none of you have suffered any losses.

Much of the UK is getting to know what it must have felt like after
Hurricane Katrina - without the wind damage, just the floods. No loss of
life reported yet, thankfully - purrs, please for all the pets who may
have been stranded.

Been out of town visiting family with no Internet access for 2.5 weeks.
 No kidding.  Of all of our family, only my son has Internet in any
form (even dialup!)
So I'll skim through the 2500+ posts I've missed.  I hate to resort to

Buster is a real chewer when it comes to toys.  You may remember he
chewed off the streamers of his cat dancer, and even the end of his
cat charmer.
Karen's mentioning the "Feline Flyer" toy reminded me of his latest

It's the chin acne. I have tried treating him at home. This is not
working. One of the blackheads has become pus-filled and erupted into
an abscess. So he *has* to go to the vet Monday. IMO he needs oral
antibiotics at this point.

Yesterday was a LOVELY day, so I had the windows open and the fans
blowing, and the sun was shining.....
