Do cats get strep throat?04 Jul 2007 15:28 GMT28
I've been running a fever since Saturday, and when I went to the doctor
she said it was probably strep throat. I got antibiotics and told to
take it easy and drink lots of fluids. I'm staying at home today because
I had a terrible night and I'm pretty sure I'm contagious. ...
Ya'll Have to Hear This.04 Jul 2007 13:53 GMT40
I am so pleased with myself. (LOL)
The orphan babies are sucking on each other in a bad way. I had to
separate them. They apparently need to suck really bad.
So here's what I did. I made a surrogate mother.
Pam and Rob04 Jul 2007 13:50 GMT3
Has anyone been in touch with them lately?
It feels like they all headed off on the mouser voyage this year.

Who's the oldest04 Jul 2007 11:18 GMT13
Another thread got me wondering, who is the oldest living rpca cat?  Is it
KFC at, what Tweed, 22 or so?
And what is the oldest age anyone has had a cat live to?
Got Vet's Appointment03 Jul 2007 21:23 GMT12
Dr. French will be able to see us at 6PM today.  Tayla, Archer, and Ozzy all
have URIs (Ozzy's is bad, he hacks constantly), they all have diarrhea, they
all have ear mites, and I'm pretty sure they all have several varieties of
parasites.  They probably won't get their ...

DH got the following email from Pong/Sajja's new Grandma:

I thought you might want to know how Sajja is doing!
Well - he appears to be settling into his new life - - - dogs and all!  We

Visiting the blue cats03 Jul 2007 21:15 GMT1
It was a long weekend, and I couldn't go to the island with the cats for
Midsummer this year, but my niece kindly invited me over on Saturday for
one of her lovely meals (for all of you who have drooled over her food
photography - it tastes as good as it looks!).
A furry welcome03 Jul 2007 21:10 GMT15
Yesterday I did a couple of hours on my bike. Not far, only about 24 miles.
When I got back home, a furry one-eyed feline ran to meet me as I pulled up
at home.
Today I did a thoroughly enjoyable 60 miles in thunder, wind & rain. It took
Update on Jake03 Jul 2007 21:00 GMT10
Jake is doing fine for a cat with stitches across his nether region and a
f#$& damn collar around his face.  He is most unhappy.  Can't get
comfortable.  Feels he is losing all his street cred by knocking things
over, spilling water, jumping and missing, and being held down to ...
I'll help myself03 Jul 2007 20:56 GMT6
We have a free standing pantry/ cabinet in our kitchen. It has narrow
shelves on the doors with a wooden dowel across the front so cans and other
things won't fall off.
Cinnamon discovered a bag of catnip on the bottom shelf.
Ping, Tweed: Bitter Apple?03 Jul 2007 19:33 GMT5
In response to your post in Tak's thread:
No, I don't know about Bitter Apple. I've heard (on newsgroups) of
people using it to discourage
the chewing of electrical cords, but I never had that issue with the
Kewl, EASY web page03 Jul 2007 18:43 GMT4
If you have a Yahoo account, did you know that you can set up a web page,
with lots and lots of fun features, in about 5 minutes with their new "Yahoo
Page Builder"???  I just found it and it's a hoot!  Here's one that I did
for Tayla in just about 4 minutes: http://www.geocities ...
Bye for now03 Jul 2007 18:28 GMT8
We're leaving in about an hour. Mir is giving me sorrowful looks because
I took away her food (so she doesn't get car sick). Even Caliban knows
something is up, but I hope he doesn't guess he's going in the carrier
today.
My Chatty Cat03 Jul 2007 18:25 GMT8
Persia has been extra chatty lately.  Even when she's flopped out on the
floor, totally relaxed, if I walk by she just *has* to say something to me!
Sometimes several somethings.  I can tell from the tone of her voice it's
not critical stuff.  She's not asking for food.  Her litter ...
